About this ebook
Tragedy and vampires: two words that no one seemed able—or willing—to detangle.
Clementine wants to spend his vacation kissing his human boyfriend amidst romantic ruins and forgetting how much society hates his fangs, but the first ancient castle they tour boasts a myth about a vampire curse—specifically, their murderous tendencies and heroes who kill them. When a dalliance in the basement opens a trap door, Clementine and his boyfriend discover that the legends don't tell the whole tale...
This is a short story about queer joy and resilience, with a little romance and mystery thrown in. It follows the main couple from How to Sell Your Blood and Fall in Love after the events of the novel but is a complete story that can be enjoyed on its own.

To every queer throughout history who has ever feared they won’t make it, and all those who didn’t in the end. We have always been here, and we always will be.
Forenote: this short story features the main couple from the vampire romance book How to Sell Your Blood and Fall in Love. It contains no major spoilers for that book, however, and can be read entirely on its own!

Beatitude Castle’s stability never lasted for more than a decade or two before another tragedy would befall it.
The tour guide’s voice echoed through the castle’s lofty main hall, resounding hollowly in the empty space with its worn brick and high ceiling. Often the family would vanish without a trace, leaving the place to languish under the thrall of a vampire squatter, until a group of hunters eventually took the vampire down, allowing for a new family to move in and starting the cycle over.
Tragedy. Vampires.
Two words that no one seemed able—or willing—to detangle. They crawled up Clementine’s skin and tried to resettle into his bones the way they had when they’d first taken his life by storm some months ago.
Vampires. Tragedy.
One begot the other, certainly, but
