Introduction
Immigration is a complex and multifaceted phenomenon that has shaped societies and nations throughout history. The movement of people from one country to another in search of better opportunities, security, refuge or simply a new life has played a significant role in the development of societies across the world. Immigration transcends geographic boundaries, involves diverse social, cultural, economic and political aspects, and raises profound questions about identity, inclusion, diversity and social cohesion.
Since the dawn of humanity, human beings have migrated in search of more favorable conditions. The migratory movements of antiquity were driven by factors such as the search for natural resources, territorial expansion, conflicts and climate change. However, in recent decades, immigration has acquired an even greater dimension, with globalization, technological advances and the increase in socioeconomic inequalities in different parts of the world. These factors, combined with geopolitical events and international conflicts, have contributed to increased migration flows and to the complexity of issues related to immigration.
One of the fundamental aspects of immigration is the impact it has on host societies. The arrival of immigrants brings with it a diversity of cultures, experiences, knowledge and skills that enrich life in host communities. The interaction between different ethnic and cultural groups promotes the exchange of ideas, creativity and innovation, driving cultural and social development.
