A sudden gust of wind pulled at her chestnut hair, causing it to twirl around her shoulders as she briskly walked. The wind also caused her to smile. Emma readjusted her coat and picked up her pace in an effort to get to her destination as quickly as possible. But destiny had other things in store for her to accomplish.

As Emma rounded the corner, she came face to face with a pair of eyes that were as piercingly blue as they were brown. The force of the impact was so intense that it sent a jolt through her entire body. Their souls seemed to connect in some unexplainable way as they locked gazes for a brief instant, causing time to appear to stand still between them.

The spell was broken first by the stranger, who was a tall and ruggedly handsome man with a hint of stubble on his strong jawline. He offered Emma a lopsided smile that made her heart skip a beat.
