About this ebook

FROM EXCITING ROMANCE AUTHOR TANITH DAVENPORT

Book four in the Rock My World series

He wants her. She wants him— but she' s going to make it hard for him.

Vlogger Angel Metzler likes to create content on her two favourite things— rock music and classic cars. So when lead guitarist Judah Kallam approaches her at a car show and asks her to do some promotions work for him, she accepts— and when she notices someone filming them as he' s flirting with her, she kisses him, hoping this will result in good publicity.

Judah tells her he plans to quit his band Vegas Dreams to go solo and is happy to get any publicity he can by any means necessary. Irresistibly drawn to him, Angel agrees to make public appearances with him, but knows it will go no further— she has made a private vow never to date musicians, having been let down by too many in the past.

But when the press attention grows too much to handle, Angel and Judah are thrown closer together and the heat growing between them tempts Angel to break her vow. But will Judah still be interested when the promotion is done, or is she just a groupie to him?

Tanith Davenport

I first started writing seriously when my tutor on a creative writing course pointed me towards the Romantic Novelists' Association and their New Writers' Scheme. Thanks to them, my debut novel "The Hand He Dealt" was accepted by Totally Bound in 2011 and was nominated for the Joan Hessayon Award for 2012. I haven't stopped writing since. Last year my short "Spiritwalker" was released as part of the "Some Like It Haunted" collection by Totally Bound. This year I'm working on two new shorts plus the upcoming release of my back collection as audiobooks. When I'm not writing, I love to read historical fiction and non-fiction as well as anything paranormal. I love to sing, watch horror movies and go to rock concerts. I also have two cats who like to hide all day and then destroy the house at night.

    Prologue

Her last day in hospital. Finally.

She had always hated hospitals. The smell of cleaning fluid, the rattle of trolleys, the noise that made it so difficult to sleep at night. And the constant reminder of how many things could go wrong with your body.

Angel Metzler was dressed, ready to go. All she needed was for the doctor to bring her prescription. Blood thinners. She had only ever heard of elderly people needing these before, and suddenly here she was with a daily dose of apixaban.

It’s newer than warfarin, the doctor had told her when she had first been admitted. More reliable, easier to manage. Just means that if you have a bleeding incident it’s a bit more complicated to fix. So make sure you come straight in if that happens.

A bleeding incident. Nothing like boosting her spirits, being told that she could bleed to death only minutes after being told she had blood clots on her lungs. Somehow that sounded less scary than the medical term she had found online. Pulmonary embolisms. Those sounded like something that could kill on the spot.

But then, if she hadn’t come in when she had had trouble breathing, she would have been dead by now.

Angel looked down at her phone, Facebook messages from her friends blinking on the screen. It was good to know they cared, and yet in the last few days her social calendar had been the last thing on her mind. All she had been able to think about had been how close she had come to death.

And now all she cared about was living her life. Every damn day. Because you never knew when there wouldn’t be a tomorrow.
