Prologue: The Spark of Resistance
The journey I am about to share with you is one of courage, resilience, youthful optimism, and the unwavering pursuit of justice. It's a story that spans years of my relatively short life - I am only 19… who the hell am I to think I can write a book?
It is a story entwined with activism, music, entrepreneurship, and the challenges that come with standing up against a system built to silence those who dare to question it. This book is not just about my personal experiences, but also a testament to the power of community, the importance of speaking truth to power, and the strength that can be found in solidarity. The story comes with one crystal clear resounding message I hope everyone who looks at these pages quickly understands… you have to fight to win! If you give up you will never win. As my dad has often told me, when you’re going through hell keep going, otherwise you get stuck
. To be honest I believe that quote comes from an adaption of a statement made by British Prime Minister Winston Churchill during WWII. It seemed like a good life philosophy to adopt when I was a kid, and I think it is the only thing that got me through the hell of being falsely arrested and tried for a violent felony that I did not commit. Was this a case of mistaken identity? No, this was a conspiracy to take away my civil rights and shut down police accountability protests I had organized.
In the spring of 2021, I found myself at the center of a storm, caught between the clutches of a corrupt law enforcement system and my own desire to make a difference in the world. The events that followed my first arrest for violating a county noise ordinance would forever change my life and the lives of those around me. From the outset, I knew that the charges against me were bogus, and that the truth was being twisted to serve the interests of those in power. But even in the darkest moments, when it seemed like the odds were insurmountable, I held on to the belief that justice would prevail.
As you journey through the pages of this book, you will bear witness to the events that transpired, the battles fought, and the victories won. You will meet the people who stood by my side, who inspired me and gave me the strength to carry on. Through it all, my resolve to fight against injustice and to hold those in power accountable only grew stronger.
This book is a reflection of the resilience of the human spirit, and the power that lies within each of us to make a difference in the world. It is also a call to action for anyone who has ever felt the weight of oppression or the sting of injustice. The struggles I faced were not unique to
