Nobody ever told Emilie Sable how difficult it would be to be on her own.

Just a year ago, everything had been so different. On this very same day last year, she’d been smiling and dancing around the Christmas tree inside her living room, sipping hot cocoa and blasting music so loudly that the walls shook. There had been laughter, candy, and love.
