The Palaces of Ganymede: Uncollected Anthology: Fairies in Space

About this ebook
Where is the music of Ganymede coming from?
Jupiter's moon Ganymede is the largest moon in the solar system, larger even than Mercury and Pluto, covered in a crust of water ice over a hundred miles thick, covering oceans of liquid water hundreds of miles deep.
And there's something intelligent there, something powerful enough to manipulate gravity itself.
Gen33 is an expendable clone sent to investigate this "music" of Ganymede, but Gen is not prepared for what awaits.

POINTING
at the audio emitter on the control panel, Gen33 said, There! Can you not hear it? Have you not ears?
My ears work just fine, Gen,
Kel91 said. You are correct in that there seems to be recognizable organization and rhythm in the signal.
Thank you for finally admitting it,
Gen33 said. They had been squabbling over the music for nine cycles as their ship made its way around Jupiter from Odysseus Station. Hanging in the clear aluminum viewport, the bright spot of Ganymede had emerged from behind the beautiful vastness of Jupiter, its riot of swirling colors, and grown into a bright disc with shading variations visible to the naked eye.
It is a science officer’s job to remain skeptical until all available evidence is sufficiently examined,
Kel91 said. "Not
