Chapter 1
Saving the Queen of Diamonds
Summoning every ounce of strength she possessed, Katie overcame the fear that was paralyzing her body. The vacuum created by the plane’s open door was sucking her out of the cabin as her fingers were frantically searching for anything to dig into. This is where you disembark, Courageous!
Dan Devious sinisterly laughed while banking the plane from the pilot’s seat.
Aauugghh! Katie could not hold on any longer and slid through the open door into the cold air outside of the plane. She was free-falling downward through the sky toward a deadly collision with the ground below. Her mind raced through a checklist: no parachute, no backup parachute, no loose-fitting clothing to make into an emergency chute . . . The ground was getting closer and closer—this was it—the end of the line! She closed her eyes to pray before meeting the Lord. What was that music? A heavenly choir of angels? It was her alarm clock blaringly awaking her from her sleep. She sat up in her sweat-soaked pajamas; that nightmare was so real! She occasionally had such dreams since becoming a secret agent. She got out of bed to get ready for work.
Katie was looking into the mirror as she combed her shoulder length auburn hair. She spotted her badge on the counter by the sink. She read it to herself, Katie Courageous. Agent 777. PEE.
Katie works for the elite spy agency, Powerfully Exterminating Evil. The agency is in a daily war against an evil agency of spies named FART (Fiendish Army Raising Terror).
Katie drove her sleek sports car to PEE headquarters. She entered through the double-glass doors and took an elevator to the third floor. After she knocked on the door marked 303,
the remote-controlled door opened, and Katie entered the office speaking to the man behind the desk.
Katie Courageous, Agent 777, reporting for duty, sir!
Her boss is Briles Brilliant, who equips the agents of PEE with his special inventions and strategies. Briles informed Katie about how FART had captured King Tar of Zan and Queen Jane of the tiny nation of Chee-Tah. The nations of Zan and Chee-Tah are homes of many diamond mines. FART was planning on forcing King Tar of Zan and Queen Jane to give up control of the diamond mines so FART would have more money to finance its wicked schemes. Katie’s mission would be to rescue the king and queen.
There was no time for PEE to scope out the situation or develop a plan; Briles was not sure how long the King and Queen could hold out against FART. So Katie would have to leave immediately and without a clue what deadly traps FART may have prepared for her. Briles gave Katie a special communicator that fit inside her ear. With this, I will be with you wherever you go to help you,
said Briles.
Katie ran and jumped in SNOT—an extremely fast one-person aircraft: Speedy Noiseless Orbital Transportation. Soon she landed in Africa and was running through the jungles of Chee-Tah. Suddenly,
