About this ebook
Four friends take a road trip to burn off some steam and end up in the worst possible situation. Jam, Jess, Charlie, and Jordan are law enforcement professionals and childhood friends. They possess a skill set that the average person does not. Does that make them impervious to being the victims of crime? Of course not. But what they do to get themselves out of harm's way may shock you.

Epilogue
Four friends took a road trip, and they ended up in the worst possible situation…or did they?
Chapter 1
It was a Sunday, so where else would they be but at the shooting range; their church. The loser, the worst shot, had to pay for brunch at the diner down the road, so the stakes were extremely high. This group has been friends since the academy or prior. They didn’t all still work at the department, but they all were still in some form of law enforcement. And as busy as life got, they promised that they would keep one Sunday a month open to meet at the range for some friendly competition and catch up.
They were an unlikely group. Charlie was twenty-nine but could pass for a twenty-two-year-old any day. Blond and baby-faced with large green eyes, Charlie was also not tall but was as menacing as they come. They joked that Charlie would have made Hitler proud; the perfect Aryan. Although not tall, Charlie was wiry and all muscle. Charlie was charismatic, a real people pleaser. The kind of person that fit in anywhere with any one, a real shit talker. Charlie wanted for nothing growing up. Charlie’s trust fund made sure of that. Charlie did not make time for serious relationships; career was the priority. Charlie loved a lot, several, different partners, none of which knew about the others. A lieutenant on the police force by age twenty-seven with a master’s degree in criminal justice. From SWAT to motocross, there was nothing that Charlie did not do and do well. Charlie was handy, could fix or make anything, including traps to lure big game—humans.
Then there was Jordan who left the department right after the academy to become a probation officer. Jordan was very plain—short brown hair, a medium build, and brown eyes. Jordan usually wore contacts but sometimes glasses. Jordan was the best shot in the group, though, and everyone used Jordan’s targets as their measure of success. Jordan was quiet, spoke the least amount of shit, and performed the most action. When Jordan spoke, everyone listened. The EF Hutton of the group. Jordan was single and had the money to buy the hottest pistols, accessories, knives, deadly toys, and lots of body ink. A true enthusiast of everything badass. Jordan was physically menacing. They teased that Jordan didn’t have to talk, and people would still listen. Jordan didn’t date much. No one could keep up with all the hobbies and toys, and Jordan couldn’t care less. Jordan was an only child and the product of the whitest parents on the planet, parents who didn’t understand the body art and deadly hobbies. Jordan and Charlie had been friends since ninth grade.
Then there were Jesse and Jameson, the twins. Everyone called them Jess and Jam. They were mirror-identical twins, and except for their hairstyles, no one could really tell them apart, and they liked it that way. They liked fucking with people, getting into their heads. They were the product of a Caucasian mother and an African American father. Genetically, they received the best of both worlds. They were raised by their parents who owned a karate studio. The twins took their martial arts background and added mixed martial arts, jujitsu, and self-defense to their repertoire. They taught self-defense every weekend at their parent’s studio. They were still at the department—one a detective in special crimes, the other a detective in homicide. Jordan may have been the best shot, but Jess and Jam were unmatched in hand-to-hand combat. Due to their diminutive stature, people who were larger always tried to test them. That was a mistake. Neither lost a fight in hand-to-hand combat, alone. When they were together, well, that was just suicidal. Their twin bond was one of the strongest anyone had ever seen. There was no way to have an issue with one and not get an ass kicking from the other. They had to work in different units at the department, because the police chief got tired of the constant battles between them and everyone else. Though they were frequently called to the carpet, their disciplinary records were clean. They were well respected by their colleagues and known for being trustworthy and honorable. The twins dated a lot, but no one they dated could quite manage to compare to each other, so most relationships didn’t last
