About this ebook

The title of the book Where Have All the Children Gone? poses a question not easy to answer. Read about children through four decades to see how life has changed and how some things never change. Everyone has a story to tell, so several stories are included from friends and family--may be a different viewpoint. The ending is for you to find out, and maybe you'll ask some questions about children.

    Foreword

I met Charity Roszel twenty-one years ago when she first moved into our senior living community: The Pines. When you first meet Charity, you are immediately impressed. She is a very active person looking to make a difference in people's lives. When you add the grace and kindness she displays, you realize she is a very special person. I consider her a mentor and role model in my personal and professional life.

Charity is an idea person. When life throws us challenges, Charity sees opportunities rather than problems. Over the years, she has come to my office with creative ways to address various issues. She is both innovative and practical, which makes her ideas easy to implement.

Charity has made significant contributions to our community. For twenty years, she has taught English as a second language (ESL) to staff in our housekeeping department from Latin America. She has developed their skills, built confidence and trust, allowing them to succeed in their jobs and the local community. She takes a personal interest in them, and they truly appreciate her.

She also added a piano to her apartment to give lessons to anyone who had an interest. She realized the importance of music and wanted to offer someone else a chance to learn something new.

In addition to being gifted, Charity is fun to be around and open to trying new adventures. She has been a leader in developing a comprehensive and award-winning activity enrichment program for our independent living residents. She has a passion for life and has a diverse list of accomplishments. Her work will benefit
