Cherice King felt the Lord prompt her to begin writing her first book while witnessing her husband's battle with congestive heart failure. Writing that story helped not only in her battles with seeing the love of her life pass away, but encouraged her to believe the story might inspire someone to reconnect with God and leave the flesh-oriented lifestyle. Cherice's inspiration for this three-book series was to let people be aware that we are spiritual beings living a natural experience. Our earthly bodies are natural but our spirits are eternal. There is a spiritual realm that does exist. We may not be aware of it, but we are part of a spiritual realm whether we except it or not. There is only one God!

The Widow and the Wolf - Cherice King
Chapter One
The Life of Silver
Silver, who was a very handsome , was also a very powerful, wealthy man, and he lived in the mountains. The majority of the men in the land hated and envied Silver because of his riches, and Silver knew it. His looks were the only good thing about him. On the other hand, he was a very selfish, abusive, rude, talking-too-much drunkard, and a disrespectful man all put together. Most of the people tolerated Silver because he owned most of the town and their livelihoods depended on him to survive and provide for their families. Unfortunately, by doing a lot of crooked, wicked deeds, he made his wealth accumulate, and no one dared to confront him. Every four months out of the year, Silver would deliberately throw extravagant, over-the-top parties to show off his luxuries and wealth, just to rub them in people's faces, especially his enemies. The spirit of jealousy, that lived in their hearts, couldn’t shield their countenance, and he enjoyed every bit of it. Silver knew he had a bad reputation because of his character, but he didn’t care at all. He was rich. He was living his best life, but he had no love in his heart. He became very conceited, and he allowed his money to rule him. Also, his life was deeply rooted in women, partying, and alcohol. Silver didn’t know that soon his past and actions would catch up with him.
Jazzmun and Razzle Dazzle's Plan for Silver's Life
Jazzmun was an elegant and beautiful angel who was assigned to watch over Silver's life from birth. Her role was to protect, lead, and guide Silver in the right direction, at all costs. Overwhelmingly, this task had been very difficult for Jazzmun to complete. As she watched Silver's life from afar, it saddened her deeply. She tried talking to him plenty of times, telepathically, to encourage him to make the right choices throughout his life, and Silver would just ignore her. She also purposely put people in Silver's path to lead him to the Gatekeeper, who held all power in his hands. Ignorantly, he declined on many occasions. Now the spirit of death was once again ready to overtake him, and his future was out of her control. She could not spare him any longer, for his time was up. The last party that Silver hosted , she could overhear a couple of his close friends planning to take Silver's life, and he had no idea. Jazzmun had saved Silver from the spirit of death plenty of times. This particular time, she couldn’t save him. His life was out of her hands now.
There was another angel, Razzle Dazzle, who resided deep down in the middle of the earth and was also assigned to Silver's life from birth. Razzle Dazzle's assignment was the opposite of Jazzmun's: he was to keep Silver distracted, kill him, and bring him to eternal hell. Jazzmun had no power to enter the home where the party was held because Silver gave Razzle Dazzle too much power, by listening and obeying his wicked plans and schemes. Sadly, Silver had no idea what was going on in the spiritual realm that he would be entering one day. In his foolishness, he didn’t realize that this life was only temporary, and his life would be judged by the Gatekeeper, who would decide where he would reside for eternity! Quickly, Jazzmun decided to go before the Gatekeeper to report the news about Silver.
Jazzmun, beautiful in all her glory, went before the throne to see the Gatekeeper. She was tall and had a slim figure. Her smooth skin was the color of brown sugar, and she had big, beautiful brown eyes that sparkled like diamonds. Jazzmun had long, jet-black hair that flowed gracefully down her back and glittered with jewels. Her magical power was in her hair, and she had been taught by her master to use that power only under extreme circumstances.
Jazzmun told the Gatekeeper everything in her heart about Silver. The Gatekeeper called for Doris, Silver's grandmother, who had died at one hundred years of age and made it to the Magical City. When she arrived at the Magical City, her old appearance was instantly transformed into that of a younger version of herself. The Gatekeeper remembered all Doris's prayers concerning Silver while she was living on the earth. He remembered how she had fought and interceded on behalf of Silver's salvation all her life before she passed away.
The Gatekeeper told Doris how he remembered all the things she had sacrificed for her grandson's life and that now it was time to answer everything that she had prayed in her heart. Doris bowed before the Gatekeeper and kissed his feet to give him honor and to thank him for what he was about to accomplish.
The gatekeeper told Jazzmun the perfect plan concerning Silver's destiny on earth, and Jazzmun agreed to help carry it out.
Silver's Heart Is Tested before the Lord
Three days later, on December 21, a beggar and her infant child were outside Silver's upscale restaurant, begging for milk and food. When she asked Silver for these, for herself and the baby, Silver selfishly ignored her and turned his back on her. The beggar asked Silver again. This time she was on her knees grabbing his feet and pleading for mercy to get his attention. He shook his legs free from the dirty woman, and he yelled at the beggar to get her filthy hands off him.
She lowered her hoodie and, crying her heart out to Silver, said, Sir, if me and my baby girl don’t eat, we will surely die.
Silver's lust overwhelmed him once he made eye contact; he was mesmerized by her beauty and licked his tongue out seductively around his lips, imagining all the possible things he could do with the beggar. Silver's arrogance and lust completely overtook him. He said disrespectfully to her, If you want food or any services from me, you will have to work for them.
The beggar replied with relief, saying, "How can I work for it,
