CHAPTER 1
The major commercial intersection was busy with people talking, walking, and taking selfies. Taxis could stop at the red signal and then drive away at the green movement. Many people seemed to mind their business as they went about their destinations. Some people walked in pairs and groups as they converse on certain things that must have been crucial to them. While others were laughing or smiling, some people were going about with their faces looking sober.
While the significant commercial intersection remained busy, two coke tin-sized cylinder metal bottles dropped from the sky without noticing what had just happened. The cover of the bottles opened, and slight smoke started coming off the bottles. The smoke coming off the bottles gradually started spreading. People started coughing as they continued their activities, but this cough gradually metamorphosed into something else. A girl walking with her mom noticed something was dropping off her nose. She touched her nostril and then looked at it, and it was blood; she looked frightened. She then looked at her mom; her nose was also bleeding. The nose of everyone was bleeding. While the nose bleeding was going on, people started dropping down and becoming unconscious as their nose was bleeding. Cars began hitting each other as the drivers and passengers in these cars were bleeding through their noses and becoming unconscious. Within ten minutes, Times Square became like a graveyard with no-one looking alive, but the commercials continued to run on the screens.
Suddenly, white-uniformed people emerged from within the smoke, wearing nuclear masks. They had a big 'A' printed on their uniform. They walk towards the unconscious people, checking their pulses and collecting their blood and hair samples. They also took the two metal cylindrical bottles and put them into boxes; they then walked away.
Governor Charles, a tall man who should be in his early fifties, was seated at the conference table; he wasn't looking happy; about ten other people were sitting with him at the conference table. There was a massive monitor before them; they seemed to have their eyes focused on the monitor as a news channel had covered the air attack. Police cars could be seen around the place where the attack had happened. Ambulances could also be seen from the monitors. News anchors and camera operators were going around Times Square as they tried to cover the incident. People have been taken on stretchers into the waiting ambulance.
''People are being transported to he hospitals. So far, there aren't any casualties recorded. However, CCTV footage caught a bizarre incident after the attack.'' a news anchor said from the monitor. The monitor screen captured the white-uniformed people checking the pulses of unconscious people. Charles switched off the monitor; he sighed in disappointment.
''This is the third air attack in the past two months; lead us on here, gentlemen,'' Charles said to the people seated at the conference table with him. Chief George, a man in his fifties, who was dressed in a suit, cleared his throat; he seemed to have something he wanted to say. ''My team is strictly investigating the attacks, Sir. We've concluded that this is the work of a foreign country, trying to attack our nation in terms of security and economy.'' Chief George explained. ''Which country are we talking about, chief?'' Charles asked. Chief George shared a quick look with Assistant Chief Vincent, who was also in his fifties. Chief George took his gaze back to the governor. ''I'm afraid to say this; it's Russia, Sir.'' Chief George disclosed he had a serious look on his face.
CHAPTER 2
The scientists, dressed in white lab coats and nuclear masks, worked on microscopes. A scientist puts a drop of blood on test plates and puts it under the microscope. The screen showed a small amount of round green and red organisms. The white DNA structure was captured on the big monitor; it looked broken but steady.
Dean walked to the refrigerator, opened it, pulled out a small bottle of liquid, and replaced it with another small bottle; he then closed the door.
Some minutes later, Dean was seen crossing the road; he got into a telephone boot by the roadside. There was someone behind the crossroad; he was hidden at a spot and taking pictures of Dean without Dean knowing about it. Dean dialed the phone to place Martin on a call; he then started talking to Martin. ''I've got it.'' He said on the phone. ''Red cover. Your street dumpster.'' Martin responded and then hung up. Dean looked confused as he looked at the receiver in confusion. He sighed, put the receiver back on the phone, and walked out of the boot; he stood there concisely as if he was trying to be sure of the environment. He then walked away.
Dean was now approaching a street dumpster. He then stopped walking. He covered his head with a hoodie and then walked to the numerous black trash; he made sure he looked downwards, probably because he didn't want his face captured on a camera. He gently placed the read trash cover on top of numerous black trash, he then looked around to make sure no-one was watching him, but there was someone on the rooftop of a building just opposite where Dean was standing. He was taking photos of Dean without Dean knowing about it. Dean started walking away without knowing that photos f him had been taken.
Some minutes after Dean had left, a garbage truck approached and pulled up before the street dumpster. A man alighted from the garbage truck. He was captured on camera by the person on the rooftop. The man who descended from the garbage truck looked around to make sure no one was looking at him; he then quickly grabbed the red cover he hid in his jumpsuit. This man now started taking all the trash into the truck. After placing the debris into the car, he went into the truck and drove away.
Dean looked exhausted as he walked into his living-room from the outside. He slumped down on the couch and placed his head in his hands for a moment; he then looked at the space before him and sighed. Just that moment, Dean's wife walked into the living-room from the bedroom; she stood at few distances away from Dean, looking at him with red puffy eyes. Dean seemed to have just noticed that someone was looking at him; he looked in her direction and then saw his wife; for a
