About this ebook
"You will walk away terrified, gobsmacked, and much more!"—Erica Robyn Reads
Dillon is technically a hitman. If somebody has an enemy they want killed, he is the man they go to see. Unlike any other hitman, however, Dillon can make a bizarre claim: he's never killed anyone before.
Using a machine that allows him to travel through time, he has found a genius way to eliminate targets without laying a finger on them.
But when an unusual customer pays for his services one day, his secret business becomes threatened, forcing him to use his sharp wits to save himself.
In a time of crisis, Dillon uses his most potent weapon: A Date with Death.
Using time travel and sci-fi elements, James Flynn has crafted a short story that explores the genre in a unique way. A Date with Death is a must-read for all science fiction fans.
"Stephen King has been dethroned."—Rex Payne, author of Eagle Pass
"Truly chilling, Flynn's stories will stick with you long after reading."—Matthew Hutton, The Scare Room Podcast

A thick stream of traffic roared by on the motorway down below, saloons and hatchbacks screaming along the asphalt. On the roof of an adjacent building, sitting calmly in one of the plastic sun-chairs of a rooftop bar with a notepad and pen in his hand, Dillon could see it all: a thousand glistening cars zipping by like fireflies under the afternoon sun, bonnets and windshields reflecting the warm, yellow glare. On the other side of the road, across the vast expanse of tarmac and concrete barriers, a line of multi-story hotels stretched off in either direction, high-rise buildings filled with spas, swimming pools and luxury rooms that were sure to put a dent in anyone’s wallet. Figures lined the balconies of some of these complexes, dots of people watching the busy freeway down below from the comfort of their rented rooms. Dillon glanced down at his watch again, then back over towards one of the opposite buildings. It would happen any minute now; he knew it would. Leaning back in his chair, taking the lid off his pen, a wry grin spread across his face.
The building was about fifty metres away, but he still felt the blast—a shock wave vibrating through the air like bass from a giant speaker. Smoke rose up from within the structure, followed by flames, hotel guests trapped several stories up with no way out other than leaping over the edge of one of the balconies. Dillon felt a wave of guilt as he watched the hotel burn. As people rose from their seats around him, shouting and screaming at the sight of this horrible tragedy, he hardly batted an eyelid. He was used to watching pain and suffering now, and it was possible to become numbed and desensitized to anything if you saw enough of it. Watching disasters like this had become a business for him, and he couldn’t let emotions get in the way of money. As the building continued to crumble, he shrugged off this pang of guilt, then made a note of the exact time and second that the structure’s foundations collapsed.
Dillon saw himself as a kind of hitman, or an exterminator of
