      Soldier In Vietnam

      I think of Vietnam day and night.

      God only knows how many GIs have lost their life.

      They fight by day.

      They fight by night,

      not knowing who is next to lose their life.

      Dreams of peace enter their minds

      whenever they have some priceless time.

      Sometimes they pray when the going gets rough.

      They can’t wait for an answer.

      They have to prove they are tough.

      BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

      ROCKETS EXPLODE ALL AROUND!!!

      I cover my head.

      Pretend I’m dead.

      Open my eyes.

      Come back alive.

      My buddy has gone to the heavens above.

      I hope he finds peace,

      most of all, love.
