    Chapter I

    Introduction

This edition of the sayings of Sun Tzu is edited to modern English and corrected to American spelling. The original source is from the 1908 translation, done from the original Chinese version, by Captain E.F. Calthrop. The sayings of Sun Tzu is the first half of The Book Of War, within the book, it is entitled The Articles Of Sun Tzu.

The second part of The Book Of War is the The Sayings Of Wu Tzu, which is more of an anecdotal work, consisting more of detailed stories of the life of Wu Tzu, which incorporates the condensed sayings in the first half of the book.

There are different opinions on whether Sun Tzu existed and if so, of who he was and I recommend you check that out if you wish, but for the purposes of the strategic lessons he left us all, I will simply say that these are the sayings of SUn Tzu, as the title of the original book did say.

I see him as similar to Confucious, who also has
