It is an honor for me to endorse this important reference work that brings together many of the inner and emotional healing ministries, methods, and practices that God has raised up for the equipping of the local church in the important Kingdom work of restoration of the soul. I have learned much from these ministries, and brought much of their material together in the ‘Emotional Healing’ track in Global Awakening's College of Ministry. The authors have accomplished a great resource here!

"Streams of Healing is a gift to anyone longing to experience freedom and encounter Jesus, the Prince of Shalom. Every man and woman was created in God’s image and commissioned to reflect that image throughout the Earth. Most of us are like broken mirrors that need healing until we become image-bearers of God. My own experience with the different streams of healing in this book has become a river of wholeness. Living immersed in the supernatural love of God is my passion and purpose. Streams of Healing is not just a book, but a daily guide by the best in the inner healing movement, many of whom I know as friends. This book is a vital key to finding the true you and fulfilling your divine destiny."

Jesus calls us into full maturity, to live a life of fruitfulness and wholeness. As Christians, it is so important to recognize inner healing as a significant key to living in wholeness. This amazing book offers practical wisdom and insight to healing the wounds we carry inside and inspires us to live free from brokenness and pain, so that we can walk fully in His love and give it away with power to our world.

What a beautiful presentation of healing in the body of Christ! So many colors and styles and yet the same ‘one Spirit’ is clearly working through them all. If you have a passion for binding up the brokenhearted, this is a resource you’ll find indispensable.

    Sarah J. Thiessen

Author and Founder, Splankna Training Institute, Denver, CO

"Streams of Healing: Finding your Way to Wholeness with Key Leaders in the Inner Healing Movement is a much needed and long overdue resource for counselors and anyone needing healing. Healing is God’s heart. In His great wisdom, He’s shared the diverse approaches to healing you’ll find in this book with His faithful friends who are passionate about helping others walk more fully into the freedom of Christ. Here, those friends introduce you to the stream they teach and steward. You’ll discover how each stream flows from a common foundation and leads to wholeness. I know many of these writers personally and have been refreshed in my relationship with them and in their waters. I highly recommend this resource!"

"Periodically a team emerges who can both unify and differentiate what is being done in healing ministries. There is much in common and many differences between the mental models that ministries use and the language used to explain how people work with God to become more of who God had in mind. No one person or model can notice all that God is doing when God heals the soul, heart, and mind or body. But, what do the people who spend most of their time watching God at work observe and learn? How each one explains what they see differs but each one has learned to assist. Streams of Healing helps us see what 12 ministries watch when God is at work restoring wounded lives."

"Like a Divine song, Streams of Healing authors have uniquely orchestrated words and melodies that invite hurting hearts to find their way to the One."

    Yvonne Martinez,

Author, Counselor, and Sozo Facilitator, Transformation Center Ministry Coordinator, Bethel Church, Redding, CA

"Streams of Healing highlights and chronicles one of the greatest movements alive today, the restoration of the healing ministry to the Church. This one-of-a-kind book helps us see how God is moving in fresh and creative ways to bring his love, salvation, deliverance, and healing to his people. Whether you are a seasoned minister of healing, or someone who is simply seeking more of God’s healing in your life, you will find this book a welcome companion on your journey."

    Terry Cantrell

    Minister and Certified Pastoral Counselor

"Streams of Healing will certainly be placed alongside other essential works that have formerly addressed the ministry of inner healing. Each chapter contributor of curiously applies Jesus’ words to the woman at the well, ‘If you only knew’, (John 4.10) and uses this as their own invitations to their audience to drink more deeply and explore life more fully (John 10.10). Readers will find this book to be a cord of three strands (Ecclesiastes 4.12) that includes: biblical scholarship without imposing technical jargon, personal authenticity that inspires a call to action, and proven instruction for time tested practitioners whose congregation is, broken in spirit. As you read this book ask the Holy Spirit to give you never before experienced revelation so that you can become a luminary of hope to those who seek a Streams of Healing experience!"

    DEDICATION

To the inner healing pioneers who have plowed the hard ground, and to the various streams of inner healing ministries that have been birthed because of their influence.

To those who have said yes to the Isaiah 61 mandate to heal the brokenhearted, and to the countless lives that have been, and will be, radically transformed by the healing power of Jesus because they did.

    ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

We cannot begin to acknowledge all of those who have impacted this book project, and us personally without first thanking Shari Pritchard. Without her curiosity and hunger to learn more about inner healing, without her trust in us to educate her team, without her invitation (that came out more like an assignment) to write a book, this project may not have even been a thought, let alone the product you are now reading. Jesus used her words to begin a domino effect which set an entirely new trajectory for our ministry.

We are beyond grateful for each of our authors who gave of their time and expertise to write their chapters, and who extended grace and patience throughout the revision process as we worked to get each chapter into a cohesive product. We are honored to call them friends and are thankful to them for their collective yes to partner with Jesus to bring healing and freedom to the world.

This project would not have landed anywhere near the product it has become without the advice and practical help of Leah Lesesne. After entering an Instagram contest for the Bethel Transformation Center and winning a conversation with one of our authors, Dawna De Silva, Dawna connected the three of us at a time when we all happened to be in the same geographical location even though we were living in California and Leah in Georgia. After a face-to-face meeting at a coffee shop in the Northwest suburbs of Atlanta, Leah said yes to stepping in and providing the support we needed to get this project all the way from a good idea to the finished product. Leah has put in countless hours editing, compiling, and crafting content for consistency, formatting the book for print, and providing advice and practical help with the entire self-publishing process. There are not enough words to express our gratitude.

We would also like to acknowledge Rochelle Holben and John Thomas who fanned the flame and brought our vision to life to bring many of the pioneering inner healers together, face to face, for our first Healer Gathering in 2020. It is out of this Gathering that the idea to invite the healers to author their own chapters for a compilation project was born; Dr. Mark Virkler who laid awake listening to Jesus during that Gathering for what could become of this group of peers, helping us birth an Alliance; Kent and Cathy Larson, Dawna DeSilva, and John Thomas who have walked closely with us on this journey of building a family of healers as we learn to value relational unity and mutual support for each other that transcends the methods and models we use.

I (Cathy) would like to personally thank Pastor Terry Cantrell, who said yes to the invitation of Jesus to catch me at my worst, walked beside me while I healed, and invited me to dream again. Terry’s tender heart, intentionality, protection, and peace-filled skill of being with me in what St. John of the Cross calls, the dark night of the soul, created a safe place for me to find my true self. Terry, along with many others at Riverstone Church in Kennesaw, Georgia, played a key role in propelling me forward into who I am today. I am forever grateful.

I also want to thank Melinda Wilson, my partner in ministry and my sister-by-choice. Even though I had experienced a profound personal inner healing journey and had developed a passion to help others, it was her heritage and training in the inner healing world that got me up to speed and planted in me a deep appreciation for the uniqueness and diversity of the models that are available to help people get free. As Melinda shares her thank you’s below, I share my appreciation for these people as well, for they have impacted my life through the impact they have had on hers.

I (Melinda) would like to thank several people who have had a profound impact on my journey with, and passion for inner healing:

Rev. Jim Brown, my former pastor at Church of the Messiah in Virginia, who led me through several inner healing sessions in the early 2000’s. This not only brought me healing, but also ignited a flame in me to help others experience healing.

Jim and Pat Banks, who are authors in this book, took me under their wings in the healing rooms which they established in Western North Carolina. They trained and equipped me in a variety of inner healing models and invited me to minister to others even while still on my own healing journey. I am forever grateful to them for throwing me into the deep end, because they saw potential in me that I didn’t know I had.

I also want to honor all of those who were part of the healing rooms in those days. They became family to me as we learned and grew together.

My mentor, spiritual mom, and dear friend, Debbe Buller, whom I met during my healing rooms days. Her hunger to learn as much as she could about inner healing has influenced me greatly. She has been a faithful companion as we have continued to explore heart healing together.

My mom and dad who filled our family’s bookshelves with authors such as John and Paula Sandford, Agnes Sanford, Francis MacNutt, and other pioneers in the inner healing movement. Beyond the books, they modeled for me a life of faith that God could heal every aspect of the human condition. This is my greatest inheritance.

Finally, I want to honor all the women and men who have been a part of our heart healing trainings. Thank you for taking up the torch and running with it, carrying the healing flame of Jesus to those around you!

To all of those who have dedicated their lives to help people connect face to face with Jesus and find true healing and transformation in their lives, thank you for giving yourselves to the Isaiah 61 mandate to bind up the broken hearted and set the captives free. Thank you for pursuing your own healing journey so that you can lead where you have been. Thank you for holding space for the hurting to find healing. We honor you.

We are also thankful for you, the reader. Whether you are diving deeper and broadening your understanding of the variety of streams that make up the beautiful mosaic of the inner healing movement, or, if you grabbed this book because you are looking for hope for your own healing journey, we are thankful that you are here.

    ABOUT THE COVER

The models in this book represent unique colors, shapes, and sizes within the inner healing arena. They have different approaches and perspectives and they have received different areas of revelation. None of them carries the whole picture alone. They are all part of something way bigger than themselves, a beautiful piece of art, a MOSAIC of shapes and colors, all with a common love for Jesus and a strong belief in his desire and ability to heal the broken-hearted. They have all said yes to partner with him on the earth to proclaim freedom to those who are captive. We are grateful for our graphic designer, Julie McKnight, who beautifully captured the essence of this on the cover. Each piece represents unique streams of the inner healing movement working together, inviting people into a transformational connection with Jesus, our Healer, the perfect Counselor.
