The last person you expect to get ambushed by is a lawman ... but that’s what happened to Blake Durant.
Sometimes mistakes happen, of course—but it was no mistake later on, when the pair of them were attacked by owlhoots and the lawman stopped a bullet.
The young marshal was seriously injured, and would certainly die before Durant could get him to the nearest town. Unless, that was, he opted for a nearer, isolated way-station, where the beautiful young woman who ran the place might be able to remove the bullet and save the young man’s life.

He is known to have written over 400 titles using these pseudonyms.With Don Harding, Dunn is also believed to have written a number of the 290-300 titles in the Larry Kent detective series.Dunn married and divorced twice and had three children. Dunn died in Brisbane, Queensland aged 73.
