Hope to the people of the world amid COVID-19 and the migration of social interaction to the online world

For close to 30 months now since February 2020, we have been in a transition to a zero-contact society amid the COVID-19 pandemic. I have personally confined myself to my studies all days during this time, except to go for my daily 2-3 hour, 10,000-step walk. We live in a time when, despite revolutionary advances in Internet technology and the advent of AI, all manner of social interaction including education has migrated to the online world. Truth be told, 90% of universities in Korea and abroad stand the very real risk of dying out. My proposed Worldwide Internet Graduate School (WIGS) Project would be a savior to scholars the world over, allowing them to engage in research, teaching and knowledge activity online. But this WIGS project is expected to take two years at least to implement. This manuscript is based on the educational philosophy of WIGS, and is intended to give hope to the countless people of the world facing despair, disappointment and suffering in the zero-contact world the COVID-19 pandemic has left in its wake.

I hope to give my readers hope

in the following two ways.

First, I intend to show readers how to keep notes and set them in order for quick reference and use wherever and whenever they are, so as not to fall behind in the age of AI.

Ideally, readers should aim to be able to retrieve the information they need from their smartphones within no more than 3 seconds. Parts 1 and 2 of the book deal with this matter. 

These sections provide instruction on how to use the Notes, Calendar, KakaoTalk and CamScanner apps to upload and set in order vast amounts of information Prologue relating to your goals on your smartphone and cloud disk drive. Having these materials available to you mere seconds away at all times, you will find time to skim through and ponder them in the context of your agenda at any given moment. 

You will have this information at your disposal for making informed decisions. As the WIGS educational philosophy emphasizes, by meditating and praying on your ideas, you will be able to properly conceive them, spreading your wings of imagination wide to give birth to creative ideas that beget productive knowledge. And this productive knowledge will serve you for years to come in your life.

Second, I intend to demonstrate to readers the benefits of keeping notes and setting them in order for quick reference and use wherever and whenever they are so as not to fall behind in the age of AI. These benefits manifest in the realization of the three core values of human existence. A read through Parts 3 and 4 will arm you with the ability to realize these values.

Surely the ability to imagine and turn brilliantly creative ideas into real productive knowledge, and the ability to promptly harness this knowledge to serve one’s goals not only in the now, but for years to come, are both crucial. Yet, it would seem the world has not yet taken sufficient interest in this. It is about time we come to the realization that these abilities are indispensable to achieving the three core values of human existence, as stressed by the WIGS educational philosophy.

Even if we encounter a global catastrophe in comparison to which the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic pales, we will be able to continue pursuing the three core values of human existence, that is, to live healthily, safely and happily; to succeed in the work we do; and to create wealth and rise up the social ladder. It is our instinct to continue breathing and stay alive, even if the great mountains before us crumble to dust. Indeed, without the will to keep living, we would be dead. Likewise, even as we are faced with the ongoing multitude of global crises, we must oblige our instinct to realize the three core values of human existence. If we do not, we may as well already be dead.
