    The commuter flight from British Columbia to Seattle was nearly empty, with just four other passengers. Dallas hesitated momentarily, putting his shoulder bag in the overhead compartment. Inside was his phone and datapad. He had kept the promise not to look at either one for the entire ten-day vacation. The phone was on mute, so he wouldn’t hear or feel it vibrate. He put the bag into the compartment, deciding he was still on vacation.
