About this ebook
Kalob, a reclusive teenage boy born black as night, has never felt the light of day. Never ventured farther than the forest surrounding his house at the end of Hidden Road. Until one night walking in the forest, Kalob comes across an unknown shack. Living in this shack, unknown to even herself, is a girl named Asthesia. With all of Asthesia's memories wiped clean, Kalob comes to understand Asthesia is a prisoner.
After three moons together, fueled by his love for the girl, Kalob aids in Asthesia's escape, only to be pursued by the girl's captor: an evil, possibly not human, electrically-powered old man and his pet cougar.
With the aid of two escaped convicts, Tank and Turk, along with Nathan, a United States Marshal tasked with tracking down the escapees, Kalob and Asthesia must defeat the evil old man seeking to use Asthesia as a gateway to another dimension.
As the battles escalate, Kloee, Turk's daughter, a girl born of hardship and loss, is pulled into their fantastic battles of life and death.
Now, with the fate of everything they love hanging in the balance, Kalob, Asthesia, Turk, Tank and Nathan must become aware of their own strengths in order to not only save themselves, but use the powers they unknowingly possess to save the world.
