His dust became celestial, from the yellow flower , to the water, to the air, with night lights above Ostia Antica. The net to catch butterflies or fish, to save E.T.

Where E.T. Lives - Edda Tassi

    A poem for Elon

    1

    The first celestial sphere

    struggles to warm the Earth

    because some evil wizard

    wants to harness its rays.

    The sun is hiding

    among the April clouds.

What summer would be without him

for lovers lost in the night

    like fireflies in the fields?

    And the poor cicadas?

    The whole orchestra would fail.

    2

I loved freedom more than love

    when my name became

that of the world in a book

not for sissies in the kitchen

    but for transatlantic adventures.

    I am the wind

    inextinguishable form of life.

    What will my next name?

    3

The law of love is such

    to do unbelievable things.

    Every gesture, every thought

    has a magnetic power

    you’ll recognize with amazement.

An infinite wonder, like the first time

when the child sees the world.

    4

If you try to touch the sun

you will die. And the sun will light up

    a new stratosphere.

The mighty humans staring at it

    go totally blind.

    And insane.

    5

    Oh, rich man

    who thinks you’re God!

    The math is not wrong

    you cannot count anything.

    Buy yourself an abacus
