About this ebook
The future of humanity is ripe with innovation, technology—and deep xenophobia and biological warfare.
The war rages on between Gaia and Ril, locked in a bitter life-and-death struggle from which only one race can emerge as victor over the planet. What ensures survival for one must ultimately result in the destruction of the other. There is no other way.
That is, until two minds—one from each civilization—are joined together in one body in the ultimate plot of subterfuge and deception. But the plot, meant to ensure the survival of Gaia by sealing the fate of Ril, goes astray when the chimera, Tan-Ingram, surpasses all expectations by presenting a surprising new option: a future of peace between all races—Gaians, Rilians, and the savage Fen. But there are those in power who have too much invested in warfare to let their plans unravel without a fight…
With Under a Cybernetic Sky: A Saga of One Heart and Two Minds, Harvey Bramzel shows us a dystopian future in which disease is a thing of the past, a life of fulfillment is spent occasionally—many times completely—submerged in virtual reality, each individual does his or her own part to aide in the suppression of new ideas and creative thought, and dictators shroud themselves in vast webs of secrecy and technological deceit that threaten to obliterate not only the enemy, but an entire world.
Those who fight for freedom and peace find themselves in another struggle entirely—a struggle for the salvation of humanity. But in a future where technology has far surpassed human understanding, where the lines between religion and technology are blurred beyond distinction, where every aspect of growth and development is directed and controlled, and everything from sleep to sex to the scent of roses is simulated—is anything left to define humanity? Can two cultures, isolated and estranged by evolution and ideology, ever break the cycle of violence and hate? Can love ever overcome this vast chasm . . . ?
