About this ebook

She was meant to be a warning.

A dead mouse dropped at my door by a sadistic cat who was finished with his plaything.

It was her. The little girl I knew a lifetime ago.

Now a woman used and discarded at my feet.

She thinks of me as her savior. If only she knew how deep the scars run. Not only across her sweet skin, but through the center of my heart.

We're connected in a seamless circle that binds us together. When she bleeds, I bleed.

But the price I pay for loving her is higher than I bargained for.

Jane Anthony

Jane Anthony is a USA Today Bestselling author of contemporary & new adult romance. She writes hot blue-collar dudes, raunchy rockstars, and fun feisty heroines. Her work is gritty and real and will have you cursing her name and begging for more. Jane gives a bit of herself and her quirky knowledge in each novel by incorporating her love of music through a book-specific playlist and adding things uniquely Jane to the plot, like her crazy family or '80s trivia. When she’s not busy being mom or Mrs. A, you'll find her at a concert, lost in a book, or watching horror movies with her husband. The

sky shines in orange and purple, twinkling over crystal-blue waters. A sight so beautiful it stings my eyes. I don’t want to miss it. This is how it was meant to be. The two of us together, watching the sun set over the Pacific.

When I allow my lashes to flutter closed, I feel his presence behind me. His heat warms my skin from the cool ocean air, the soothing timbre of his voice seeping over the tide. Fly high, mi reina. Mi amour.

Memories crash like the waves at my feet. I swallow hard, letting their tide drag me under one last time. The days felt long, but the years were short. Ten flew by without my noticing. Now here we are at the edge of the earth, staring at an endless sea. Just him and me. The end of our story. A divine love that’s sheltered me all this time, held me close and never let go.

I want to stay in this moment, drink in the beauty before turning back. But as the sun plummets, I find my mind beginning to wander. Far from the serene sounds of surf and the blazing beams baking my skin. They’re more than memories. They’re a piece of me I can never forget no matter how far I’ve traveled. I remember every little thing. The high, the hurt, the calm, the fear.

Staring down in the crook of my arm, I realize every scar has a story.

    Mine always bring me back.

Back to where it all began.

    Back to The Row.

    Chapter 1

    Trinity

A putrid wind blows down the alley of Second and Main, the stink of garbage and poverty infiltrating my nostrils, spinning around me in a veil of disgust. A few doors down, my home awaits, but violent flashes of cop car lights spin in the background. Dropping my head, I walk on, trying my best to remain unnoticed.

    It doesn’t work.

Trinity! Just the girl I was looking for.

When I chuck a glance toward the voice on my right, I notice the arm hanging from the dumpster. Onyx lines snake up the slender, lifeless wrist. Another dope head thrown in the trash. I’m numb to it at this point. Death is nothing but a part of life. If you’re lucky you can avoid
