1: On Baby Making
Graduate high school, get a degree, then start pumping out babies. That’s what my Evangelical Christian culture told me to do. And while I technically followed that order of events, my wife and I waited until we were closer to thirty to have our child.
Not everyone has to wait that long, but most people probably should. And not to be a dick or anything, but some people shouldn’t even have children. Look around. Between climate change and the obvious lack of parental skills out there, that much is obvious.
This is one reason why cultural norms don’t fit for everyone. Hell, they probably don’t fit for most folks. And we’ve screwed up a lot of people by sticking to them. Couples in their early twenties having kid after kid, only to divorce by their earlier thirties. Gay men and women being told they aren’t really gay and then having to confront their spouse and children with the truth later in life. So much unneeded pain and
