Salahuddin Abdullah Muhammad has a Master's degree in Islamic Studies and Christian-Muslim Relations from Hartford Seminary in Hartford, Connecticut. He is also a student of the late Imam Warith Deen Mohammed. Salahuddin introduces Imam Warith Deen Mohammed's comprehensive understanding and application of Islam in the context of American society. It is indeed a great honor and privilege for me to write just a few words as a forward to this very important work and effort put forward by my oldest son, Salahuddin Abdullah Muhammad. This is a bold effort and a step in the direction of codifying the commentary that America’s Imam Imam Warith Deen Mohammed (Rahimullah) made as a service to the Quran and message of Al-Islam for over 33 years. Salahuddin has been able to identify one of many important methodological principles utilized by Imam Mohammad in reaching his main audience, the American mind. Imam Warith Deen Mohammed throughout his dawah and ministry to the American public and the African-American community in particular methodically and wisely lead literally millions of former Nation of Islam followers and Christians to the pure teachings and universal message of Al-Islam with a language construal that caused individuals to rethink the catechisms and old scriptural understanding they had previously been taught. As result this lead them to accept Al-Islam based on the pure teachings of Al Quran and the observed authenticated teaching of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).

I can say that Salahuddin has it as well as one of his millennial students to help advance the Imam’s work and as one who values his language and has dedicated themselves to begin the work of preserving and codifying it in a way that not only is it appreciated by the common person but by the academician as well.

Brother Salahuddin has made a point in this introductory work of Imam Warith Deen Mohammad tafsir methodology to demonstrate how Imam Warith Deen Mohammed implemented an often overlooked method of clarifying and interpreting the message of the Quran by referring to the Christian bible. Again Imam Warith Deen Mohammed demonstrated his understanding of his audience and their sensibilities and sensitivities. Truly he was gifted by Allah (swt) with the ability to speak scripturally base words unparalleled and unmatched by most recent Christian, Jewish and Muslim scholars. His insights have given new and unnoticed meanings to human life and to human beings perceptions of themselves and their reality. This has provided humanity with a new fresh outlook and approach to sacred scripture to find unobserved solutions that are needed to aid in the work of REMAKING THE WORLD.

This is not an exhaustive work it is a work in progress but indeed my boy is on to something! I thank the Almighty and Merciful Lord of all Systems of Knowledge for guiding him to Islam and for giving him a deep love for the Quran, Muhammad the Prophet (pbuh) and the Language and Tafsir of Imam Warith Deen Mohammed.
