About this ebook

This novel, The Adventures of Lord Shiva, is not a collection of Lord Shiva's stories from mythology; it is a completely new, new kind of imagination. So be ready to experience an action-packed adventure. For the last 500 years, Indian mythology and folklore have come to a halt because modern technology has turned Indians' lifestyle from producing literature to producing electronic devices. But this novel tries to reinvent the ancient myth and give birth to legends of Ramayana and Mahabharata. And it comes under the category of action, thriller, mystery, fantasy, romance and horror.

This novel is about Lord Shiva and his problems with Karma. It made him do nothing and cornered him in a life and death situation. All of his devotees, like Asuras, humans and fellow gods, turned to him. His very own sons abandoned him and raised an army against him to overthrow him. But some of Shiva's valiant believers, with their magic powers, try to save him from danger. Arjuna and Varma, both are brother's, are the primal enemies of this novel and their greed to achieve lord Shiva's place leads them to wrong hands. Apart from Varma and Arjuna, another character the Oldman is the mastermind of them and used Arjuna and Varma as puppets to achieve his own ambition, so at last this conflict leads them to march against a great god Shiva.

The Adventures of Lord Shiva - Raja Durai

    Chapter 1

Long ago, before the record of history, in a dark forest named Neelavanam, during this story, that was a stormy, rainy day, a family of three chasings by ruthless Asuras, that family includes a pregnant mother, her son and her husband. The reason for the chase is unknown, maybe for joy, but Asuras are trying to abuse the mother and intend to kill her son and father. Asuras are very strong; they can crush human bones so easily, and this family can't outrun them or defend them. Due to pregnancy, that lady couldn't run faster, she lost her strength and fell under a Vanni tree. This family is a big devotee of lord Shiva, and their only hope is Shiva, so they decided to pray for their safety and rescue.

That little boy is just three years old and likes his father and mother, he's a pure devotee of Shiva, and his innocent mind believes they are going to be rescued by lord Shiva and starts to pray for their rescue. By the time Asuras, nearly five of them surrounded the family and started to mock the prayer. One of the Asuras said that their belief is out of the world, Lord Shiva can't save them or even hear them. But the father murmurs, He’ll come. All the Asuras possess the most deadly warfare weapons like axes, spear, sword and jigsaws, which can kill them in a fraction of a second. With a running nose, tears all over his face and great fear, the little boy hugs his mother and loudly shouts Mahadeva. This sound profoundly disrupts the Asuras, so they decided to kill the family immediately; one of the Asuras seems to be the leader raise his axe and targets the women's belly with grave smile on its face, both her husband and son in deep fear, cries and without any doubt on God shouts the word Mahadeva rapidly. And all of a sudden, a bright fireball hit the ground far from them, and it seemed like a giant asteroid. But no stone was found, only a big pit so all of them are at a standstill without any noise. From the fire, a human-shaped object approaches the Asuras, but nobody can identify him because of the great fire around him. Now the Asuras target changed from the family to that unknown alien.

One of the Asuras throws a long metal spear at that alien’s head, and by halfway, that spear melts down due to heavy heat produced by that unknown species. Only Asuras can see the alien, which family cannot see through the light it emits, and they are stunned? Asuras get angered and try to attack the alien together, but they have no idea what it's, so they hesitate to move forward. That alien never stops approaching the Asuras; every step forward, heat rises like Hell to the Asuras, but surprisingly that family can't feel the heat, so they assume that it's their savior. Asuras skin started burning due to that uncontrollable heat. All the Asuras start running to save their life with half-burned skin; every weapon they carry meltdown, but in that family's case not even their tears vaporise.

After Asuras went off, that heat turned down slowly; like the sun, they witnessed a man with a trident, and it's none other than the great god lord Shiva. Slowly they see his face in that calm moment, immediately kneeling and face the ground. Still, the boy worries because he saw Siva as a form of a lingam, so he never experienced his human form. His father told him that is the lord almighty Siva; it's a great fortune to see him. At the very moment, the boy kneels and watches him without facing the ground, unlike his parents; he watches him directly with true love in his heart and conveys it through his tearful eyes.

Shiva reached them. His parent's bodies shake due to this great moment, and they feel like they were in a dream. But the boy welcomes Shiva with his lovely smile, and suddenly the great God kneels his one leg in front of the boy and, without saying anything, gives him a pot full of milk. Shiva never looks at that pregnant lady and her husband. His focus is the boy, and the boy takes the milk pot, drinks a few sips fastly and gives it to his mother for wellness, and starts worshipping Siva. Impressed by this act, Shiva decided to give him a boon, but his age is never going to allow him to think wise, so Shiva picked a small branch of a Vanni tree them resident and lit it up with his warm breath, and gave it to the boy and follow his path to return without a single word. That Vanni branch with a tiny spark of fire is not an ordinary fire; the unique thing about that spark is it never lost its light and which required nothing to make it burn and last forever under any circumstances. Shiva departed soon, and after that, it got darker soon. So they have no other ways apart from walking, her husband holds her shoulder and walks along.

On their way home they noticed a small hut on top of the hills, it was only visible when the lightning hits because that house is completely dark without any firebrand, they felt unsafe but the situation led them to seek shelter on that dead cold, so they decided to approach, owner of the house was watching their struggle but ignored by shutting his door. Only with their tiny spark that little boy made a small firebrand for better navigation. After a big struggle in finding the right path they reach home successfully. They live in a village named Virudhai, and they have relatives and a perfect society under the kingship of Boopathy. That is a beautiful village; with all the grace from heaven, they have a big Shiva temple and all the resources to lead a happy life.

After they successfully reach the village, they narrate the chase and rescue to the villagers and relatives. But, nobody believes them, so they show them that magical spark, few of the people believe them, but the majority of people doubted that they are witch crafting, and the spark is dark magic, so the neighbors started to avoid them. That little boy placed that firebrand in front of their pooja placed underneath a Siva lingam. The next day, they were visited by a man named Rama. He's a beggar. He uses unknown languages and always speaks riddles with powerful information, but nobody knows that's a code to their wellness. He begs for living and sleeps wherever he wants most in front of the Sivan temple, all the Brahmin treating him poorly, but few of those young Brahmins treat him wisely and give him food. Followed by his visit to their home, they thought he came for food, and with that intention, they gave him some food. But he neglects the food and says, He arrived at you, and after that, he worships that firebrand and departs; they realize that he's a sadhu, not a beggar. They can't express this to anyone because already people think they are using dark magic. Rama stopped in front of that little boy and said, Your son is lucky.

A few years later, Raja has become a crazy boy; he causes lots of trouble to his father and mother. His father's main occupation is farming, but he never desires to follow his father's path. And is constantly roaming the village accompanied by his friends. This village has all the resources around them, but it's located inside a large forest; many bad Asuras around them. All the villagers are vegetarians, but the Asuras around them eat meat only and dead bodies too. Hence, the ancient king built a Shiva temple for their safety, and currently, they are ruled by a king named Boopathy, he's a good king. But their only problem is the Asuras, and for that, their king appointed a few warriors to guard each village. Sometimes, at night, Asuras attack the villager's animals and steal dead bodies from their graves. So the king decided to make all the village youths warriors by teaching weapon handling. Raja waited for his turn to become a warrior to guard his people, but waited for his age limit.

    Chapter 2

Meanwhile, in the castle of king Boopathy, he started discussing his future king, who has two sons. King Boopathy is sick of brain tumor and counting his days, so he has very few months to settle his kingdom, and for that, he has to choose one of his sons to his throne. As usual, the elder one is fortunate to get the throne; likewise, the king chose his elder son Arjuna to the throne. His second son Varma is fond of his brother, so he happily accepted his father's decision. Soon afterward, their father passed away, but before he died, he made his statement clear that his next heir was Arjuna. Hence, people and ministers started the arrangements of the king's throne ceremony, but before that, in their traditional future king must hunt a mountain lion and he must sleep with three virgin girls before the ceremony.

For that, both Arjuna and Varma, with few soldiers and their war commander named Naga, find their way to hunt a lion and successfully kill a male mountain lion with a single arrow. During their return, they saw a man in a long-distance in the middle of their way; he is pure white in colour because he applied ashes all over his body and seemed to be creepy in the distance, they avoided him and move forward but he stared at them without any eye movements, they went near, Arjuna and Varma crossed him without even looking at him but Soldiers and Naga looked at him and they couldn't guess his age because he's too old, soldiers discussing how can he survives at this age.

That oldman laughed at them and said it's never going to happen, son. Both brothers are stunned and try to avoid him because they thought he's an Aghori but once again in a loud voice he says it's never gonna happen. By this time Arjuna asked him what are you trying to say and the oldman replied both of you are in deep trouble without my help you can't reach the throne. Those words frightened them, so Varma approached him and requested him to be clear in information and that oldman replied you're not the only hair of the king and you have a bastard brother near the village and in future he'll march your castle and win the war. These harsh words on their father angered them because they love their father very much. Without any hesitation Arjuna dragged him to the cliff and killed the oldman by pushing him off the Cliff of a mountain.

After the successful hunt they return to their castle, and try to celebrate the ceremony but the warning that the oldman gave disturbed both of them so they decided to clear the doubt by asking their grandmother. Their grandmother told them it's true and that the boy is six years old living nearby villages and advised them to keep him safe. Arjuna without saying anything left the room. Arjuna and Varma got at most fear and anger because like that oldman said they have a bastard brother, so rest of the prediction must be true, he's none other than their enemy for the throne so they decided to kill that little boy as soon as possible.

Both brother's appoint a group of soldiers lead by Naga to find and kill that boy and bring
