F.A. Martel is a seer of lights, a poet and author of fiction and non-fiction, an aura and spirit artist, grower of plants, paranormal investigator and creator of her own life. She grew up in northern Ontario, Canada where she currently resides with her daughter and son and parrots. During more than 30 years of watching and learning about auras, she has pursued self-study into ancient cultures, as well as channelling and mediumship. The following words are the closest expression I know at this time to describe why I want to share this knowledge I have acquired over thirty years of watching and studying the lights that sparkle and appear around people and things. By no means am I providing a guarantee for the methods and techniques I have honed, since they may be dependant on factors such as spiritual openness, but again, I am not guaranteeing this outcome.

What is my guarantee? Shedding light on the subject from a layman’s perspective, from a genuine watcher of lights, who discovered at around 20 that the lights appearing around people, and things, was the electromagnetic energy field, more commonly known as the aura.

When I made the connection between the lights I perceived in my peripheral zone around people and the term aura, I investigated every resource I could access on the subject. There were few resources in print, although Kirlian photography had been around for decades by this time. I spent lots of time in new age book stores, fairs and trade shows, seeking a real human teacher about the illusive lights. The advice I kept receiving was to look inside myself.

That has been a regular activity of mine, since my very early childhood and earliest memories. My sense of the ‘spiritual’ was all-encompassing from very early on, and my openness to channel.

My journey over half a century has straddled the world of the mundane (as a government worker administering public moneys) and the arcane, (with the awareness of connection to nature as a piece of its immense mosaic of created beings). The reason I connect a sense of the spiritual realm with seeing auras is because the light of the aura is not the same as the light emanated by the sun, it is a spectrum emanated by the energy emanating through the body of flesh as a filter.

It reflects various emanations that are perceived as colours in the spectrum but are frequencies of light.

The light carries information in the frequency. The information is etheric in nature. The mind open to perceptions beyond the conscious thoughts is essential to seeing
