Political Convictions of a Progressive Conservative
()
About this ebook
US Senator Richard Schweiker of Pennsylvania (1926-2015), a Moderate to Liberal Republican politician who Ronald Reagan selected as his running mate in his Republican Primary challenge against President Ford, told the delegates at the 1976 Republican National Convention he was "not their typical Republican."
"Political Convictions of a Progressive Conservative" was written in a similar spirit. I am atypical of the Republican Party. I am atypical of what you would expect from among conservatives. But, that's how US Politics functions, "We the People."

Political Convictions of a Progressive Conservative - Andrew Langford

Where I Stand
The idea of a conservative being Progressive could seem absurd to many. It seemed absurd to me to think I would be Progressive. My definition of Progressivism is based off of leadership styles identified by Social Scientists in the Management and Leadership field. Strength of movement in the voice and innovation are central to the Progressive leadership style. It is curiosity and fostering of creativity, individuality, and dreamers. One with the Progressive leadership style sees beyond what’s in front of them to reach for something unknown and encourages others to do the same. Progressive-Conservatism is centered around the individual and envisions the political orientation of the government in the direction of the individual.
I wrote and published some LinkedIn articles prior to getting blocked by LinkedIn. This book is based off of seven of those LinkedIn articles. Each of those articles form a basis for my political convictions and for Progressive-Conservatism.
The first article in this book is Volksdeutsch Amerikaner Republikaner, published on LinkedIn on June 24, 2019. As I explained in the article, I wrote this article after I changed the headline for my LinkedIn profile to Volksdeutsch Amerikaner Republikaner / Traditionalism, Republicanism, and Principled Politics.
I explain the backstory behind what began as a blog earlier that year and translated into a political movement. Prior to the writing of this article and the change to the headline of my LinkedIn article, I was a 2019 candidate for Salt Lake County Republican Party Secretary.
The second article in this book is titled Compassionate Solution to Mass Shootings and Gun Violence, published on September 2, 2019. I wrote this article with the Columbine School Shooting and other recent shootings that followed as a backdrop to this article. I wrote the article in reaction to the typical reaction among the public and government to every shooting and every incident of gun violence. I explain in the article gun control is not the solution. I explain banning of violent video games is not the solution, though it could be helpful. I get to the root cause of mass shootings and gun violence and offer a compassionate solution instead.
The third article in this book is Why I Stood in Opposition to the 2019 UN NGO Conference Being Held in Salt Lake on November 6, 2019. I was aware of the proposed move to hold the 2019 UN NGO Convention in Salt Lake back in June of 2019, approximately two months prior. I opposed the move to hold the 2019 UN NGO Convention at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Downtown Salt Lake on August 26th-28th. I expressed how the move violated Salt Lake City and Salt Lake County local sovereignty, violated Utah State sovereignty, and violated US National Sovereignty. Another reason I gave for why I was in opposition is because it removes the incentive for people to take initiative and serve others around them.
The fourth article in this book is titled The Political Norms of the Volksdeutsch Amerikaner Republikaner, published on January 20, 2020, my thirtieth birthday. This article was written to give a clear outline of the principles the Volksdeutsch Amerikaner Republikaner was established upon and guided by. It is a summary of my writing on the blog to concise, succinct statements. It was written to elaborate on what exactly the Volksdeutsch Amerikaner Republikaner stands for as a political movement.
The fifth article is Republican Federalism, published on November 4, 2020. I started writing this article the month prior as we came to the conclusion of the 2020 election. I wrote this article with the anticipation of regardless of whether President Trump won or lost reelection, Republicans Left, Center, and Right would rush to discredit him. I predicted many leading Republican figures who are potential 2024 Republican Primary candidates would criticize President Trump after the election as they sought to find their advantage in 2024. I laid a framework out for the Republican Party in the post-Trump era for 2022 and 2024 in the article.
The sixth article is Divine Power Through Divine Design, January 6, 2021. The main section of this article is on some of my experiences with the Trent Staggs 2020 Campaign when he campaigned for Salt Lake County Mayor. The theme of this article is on the divinity of humanity and the divine power we receive in life through the divine design. I take the position in this article government should be limited and leave people to govern themselves because we are a divine Creation of divine origin with a divine identity. I emphasize the proper role of government is to secure and preserve our God-given unalienable rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
The final article in this book is titled The New Revitalized Republican Party, published on May 5, 2021. Similar to Ronald Reagan and The New Republican Party in his 1977 CPAC Address, I wrote this article to call conservatives and especially Trump supporters for calling for the creation of a third party. I emphasize the need to remain with the Republican Party and gain control of the leadership apparatus in The New Revitalized Republican Party. This article was published after my 2021 campaign for Salt Lake County Republican Party Chairman. Written as an extension to Republican Federalism, I lay a platform out for what I describe as the new revitalized Republican Party for future elections.

I moved to Utah in 2016 the day after I completed my undergraduate studies in Political Science at Fort Lewis College. I lived in Orem for the first fourteen months of living in Utah. One of my first tasks after the move was finding work and remaining unemployed. This sounds easy, if you are a typical normal
person. One of my goals after I moved to Utah was finding a woman and getting married. This sounds easy if you are the typical normal
man. But, you see. I had just one problem in working to achieve my long-term goals of marriage and employment. I am on the Autism Spectrum. I worked through the Utah State Office of Rehabilitation with its Vocational Rehabilitation Program in Brigham City and Salt Lake to find employment. I worked with Choose to Work Specialists at the Utah Department of Workforce Services. Anybody who’s familiar with Autism understands the social challenges individuals on the Autism Spectrum have. I am 29 and still single.
Long story short, I was in Orem for just over a year when I started doing research on the ancient origins of the Germans. The research led me to the Ancient Germanic religion of Asatru. I discovered the
