Chapter One

Piggy In The Middle

Swifty was having a fun-tas-ti-cal time playing ‘piggy-in-the-middle’ in the next-door neighbours’ garden, along with their pet dog, Stroodle.

Using his supersonic speed, he raced ahead of Stroodle each time that he threw the ball, just so that he could catch it himself.

Swifty’s Adventures

Swifty ping-ponged backwards and forwards across the grass, with Stroodle barking and bounding about playfully after him, desperately trying to seize the ball. The grass, caught up in the turbulence, swayed mercifully beneath Swifty’s feet each time he whooshed by. And all that could be seen of Swifty, was a distorted speck of green from his quiff that glided above the grass as he dashed about.

However, once again, it was not long before Swifty’s mind began to wander, and so instead of throwing the ball over Stroodle’s head, he continued to run along with it as he lost himself in an imaginary match.

‘…and he runs…and that’s another touchdown for Swifty.
