About this ebook
From the moment Alice Wettin arrived at the out-of-the-way estate sale she felt drawn to the ancient bag, pulled to the dusty bin in which it lay. Sure, it was unique, an intriguing piece, and even when the bag gave her a shock upon touching it, Alice couldn't bring herself to turn away.
Then, the woman at the estate sale told Alice the bag chooses the person it belongs to, and whomever it belongs to, it belongs for life.
Strange way to put it.
And when the tassel of the bag tickled the back of Alice's hand in the breeze, the woman purred, "I think it wants to belong to you..."
What an enticing notion, that she'd been chosen. Alice was sold. But as she headed home to her dreary life, eyeing the worn discard sagging on her passenger seat, she felt stupid. How could she believe she'd been chosen? By a bag?
I think it wants to belong to you...
What did that even mean?
Alice was about to find out. Because all of a sudden...magical, fantastical gifts started appearing in... The Bag.

The Bin
She was out for a little retail therapy because things had been going badly, lately. Actually, if she was honest, things had been going badly for a while, and she was just a year out of high school. Not a very good start.
But, today was the day Alice Wettin would remedy that. All she had to do was dump her boyfriend.
Could she bring herself to do it?
In her mind's eye, his beautiful hazel eye peeked up at her through an unruly, brown curl...
She tried focusing on the road, through the reflection of sun-dappled leaves dancing along the windshield, but the only reflection splayed across the glass screen was his gaze through that unruly curl...
You have arrived at your destination,
the dulcet Google voice intoned.
Glad to be reeled back, she wagged her head. She had to stop idealizing a man who'd caused her so much heartache.
She sighed, Okay, let's see what we've got.
Nearly flat-broke, Alice had opted for garage sales instead of upscale department store wares. Thankfully, this first one had been billed as an estate sale. Though it was out of the way and a bit of a jaunt from her house, it sounded better than garage sale. Took the sting out of it.
She crouched to see the house, far up a gated driveway, surrounded by an acre of lawn that was so well groomed it looked like Astro Turf. A low whistle escaped at sight of the imposing Tudor mansion beyond.
Alice almost put the vehicle back in drive. But she'd come all this way, and looking at the two other cars parked on the street, she shut her engine off. Her SUV was compact, but still comparatively respectable and in-line with the other shoppers' vehicles.
She straightened her shoulders
