Dr. Omar Khalfan Dr. Omar lives in the State of Ohio, in the United States, he’s currently an independent senior research fellow and he also works as senior freelance interpreter as he writes and speaks fluently five languages: Arabic, English, French, Swahili and Kinyarwanda. Now he’s training in Spanish and Chinese. He holds a BA Degree in languages and Islamic Studies obtained in 1996 from Al Az’har University and Master’s Degree in political Science obtained in 1998 from the Institute of Arab Research and Studies, Cairo-Egypt. He is a Ph.D. holder. Dr. Omar currently carries out research entitled, The Model of Regime Change: “The Impact of Arab Spring throughout the Middle East and North Africa” in International Comparative politics Program at the Wright State University, Ohio. 2015-2016: he was ESOL teacher (English as second language for non-English speakers). Dr. Omar is an expert in Public Speaking, and he usually gives public lectures in political science. He travels for Europe, Asia, Africa and within the United States for National and International Conferences. 2012-2015: Instructor at the Rwanda Youth political Leadership Academy in Kigali-Rwanda. 2009-2015: he’d been teaching International Relations and Comparative Politics at the University of Rwanda, and visiting lecturer for the same subjects at the U.L.K. 2012-2013: Instructor of International Relations at the Rwanda Defense Force Command and Staff College in Musanze- Rwanda. 2011-2012: Certificate of Multi Method Research Training at PASGR (Partnership for African Social and Governance Research, Nairobi-Kenya 2010-2012: Ag. Chair of the Dept. of Political Science at the University of Rwanda, formerly known as National University of Rwanda. 2011: PhD Research Certificate, University of Rwanda and OSSREA (Organization for Social Science research in Eastern and Southern Africa), Kigali-Rwanda. From 2010 onward, he’d been giving interviews to national and international media such as BBC, DW, RFI, VoA and African Great Lakes Region’s local TVs and Radios analyzing international politics, diplomacy, governance, democracy, elections and Islamic studies. He’s well known for analyzing the Arab Spring, Burundi and Rwanda politics, and global politics especially for China, Russia and the U.S.A. He’s both secular and religious senior research fellow and analyst. He’s libertarian conservative. Dr. Omar has written a number of non-commercial articles in international relations, Diplomacy/Negotiations, conflict, governance, decentralization, elections, terrorism-counterterrorism, peace and security. The recent published article for the year 2020 is “International Peacekeeping and Stabilization”, Cases: Liberia, Mozambique, and Rwanda. 2000s: He served almost five years as Special Advisor and Director for Political and Legal Affairs at the ‘’Rwandan’’ National Security Service ‘’NSS’’, currently known as NISS: National Intelligence and Security Service.
