About this ebook
While James Files was incarcerated for the last 25 years, author Pamela Ray published two books he asked her to write; TO KILL A COUNTRY and Interview with History: The JFK Assassination. On the website for the book Interview with History, a Question and Answer blog was created in 2013 for the public to ask James Files questions. Included in this book is the Q & A section that Files and Ray hope will satisfy readers regarding commonly asked questions and forever put to rest some of the basic facts surrounding his truly incredible and amazing story.
Final Update: James Files is now a Christian and was baptized in Lake Michigan on June 14, 2018. James Files and Pamela Ray were married in May 2018 and live in Chicago. They’ve been attending a Spirit-filled Christian church together since November 2017.

Pamela J. Ray
Pamela Ray is originally from Portland, Oregon. She left the Pacific Northwest in 1982 and has lived in Hawaii for the last 27 years. Born-again Spirit-filled Christian, she is a former volunteer Executive Secretary for Hawaii Christian Coalition’s State Director in the early 1990’s. She was active in local politics and went to State conventions to vote as Delegate in addition to having voter registration drives after church. (Non-Denominational) A former Rush Limbaugh fan, Ms. Ray now considers herself a political independent with the courage to fight for truth and equity. When writng this book she realized that it would cause much concern in some high places in government who engage in subterfuge and illegal covert operations. Pamela J. Ray with James E. Files "The Grassy Knoll Shooter" Interview with History features Ray’s interviews with Files, conducted meticulously over the years through highly-monitored letters and transcribed phone calls from Stateville prison in Joliet, Ill., where Files is a prisoner for what he claims is an act of self-defense against an attempt on his life by the government. A former CIA and mob hit man, Files actually considers the JFK assassination one of the least important “jobs” he was asked to do in his lifetime, and he hopes that this book will forever put to rest the subject of his involvement. “Facing incredible odds, danger and huge debt, it has been a labor of love, sacrifice and hardship to get this book to the people,” Ray writes. “Although over 2500 books have been written about the assassination, Interview with History: The JFK Assassination is the only authorized published work based on the confession of the grassy knoll shooter, James E. Files.” http://www.jfkmurderjamesfiles.weebly.com

OPENING COMMENTS
Pamela Ray Files
Please keep in mind when reading this book when I say, research or my research
, it is strictly just that. James Files has never in the past, or present, read books on the JFK assassination. It holds no interest for him. James Files role as the man who was asked by Charles Nicoletti to drive weapons to Dallas for the Kennedy assassination are first-hand accounts. James Files is simply telling his story how he remembers it.
I’ll say it again. Although we are writing this book together, the reader must understand and realize James Files knows nothing about the larger picture when it comes to details surrounding the events of the Kennedy assassination. I’m the one who is interested in the Military Industrial Complex -deep state -all roads lead to Rome –Vatican Assassins - conspiracy theories that brought us the Bush Dynasty (shooting their way into power) vs. the Kennedy Dynasty; events that go far beyond deep state terrorism and war profiteering. In 1963, President John F. Kennedy was a speed bump as the Cold War machine rumbled on. James Files was just a tool, a soldier for the Chicago Outfit and the CIA.
Simply put, Files knows what he did and who instructed him to do it: Charles Nicoletti (who answered to Sam Giancana and Tony Accardo) and his CIA controller, David Atlee Phillips. After doing the job, he did not talk to anyone about his role in the JFK assassination, except David Phillips during his debriefing at the CIA hanger at Midway airport, (included in this book). Files remained silent regarding his participation until the early 1990s when Joe West, following a lead from FBI agent Zack Shelton, tracked him down at Stateville Prison. In 1994, Confession of an Assassin video was taped in Stateville where James Files admits to being the grassy knoll shooter. In late 1998, I found the Confession video in Blockbuster, watched it, wrote a thank you for telling the truth letter
to James Files and the rest is history.
While putting this book together, I asked James Files to comment on why he didn’t talk about Dallas in the years leading up to meeting Joe West. He said it was just a way of life to not talk about the things that were done in the past. Files explained he did not talk to Charles Nicoletti later back in Chicago, he did not talk to his close friend The Raven, Gary Marlow, and he did not talk to Wolfman, George Collura, about the events in Dallas. In addition, he said he did not talk to associates in Organized Crime or fellow agents/assets he worked with in the CIA. This lack of talking about anything he had done was standard operating procedure
and it was how he was raised to keep his mouth shut. Once we did something, we acted like it never happened. To talk about something you did meant you couldn’t be trusted and in my line of work, it could get you quickly killed if someone thought you were talking. Period.
Primary Target: JFK isn’t a JFK book to satisfy everyone. Some people will criticize our work without reading it. Others will continue to love to hate anything relating to James Files. Some will appreciate knowing the truth. It’s been said, You can’t please all the people all the time…
so we aren’t even trying. We are publishing this book to make true history available for anyone who cares to know it. Also, this isn’t a book to answer every last question people might have especially regarding the big picture and far-reaching effects from the coup d’état America experienced on November 22, 1963. I have my thoughts and opinions and James Files has his own opinion from his experience. We come from two different worlds and backgrounds. It has been interesting, to say the least.
Included in Primary Target are common questions the public asked James Files on our website www.jfkmurderjamesfiles.weebly.com This is a website I built for our companion book, Interview with History – The JFK Assassination. We started letting people ask questions when Mr. Files was still locked up in prison. I would talk to him on the phone every week so I could get his response to the questions asked by the people. To be honest, neither one of us thought he would make it out of prison alive. Here we are in 2020 and a few days ago James Files turned 78. We are strong believers and give God Almighty the credit for all good things which include the fact we are still here and the story isn’t over yet. And yes, the answer is included to the commonly asked question "If all this is true, how come you’re still alive?
Also included in Primary Target: JFK – How the CIA Used the Chicago Mob to Kill the President, is Cast of Characters- ‘the boys’ and other Associates of James Files, an appendix of various court documents and comments, Guilty Until Proven Innocent, Joe West’s Court Case to Exhume JFK’s Body, and Joe West Letters to James Files.
This book is a labor of love on my part because left to himself, James Files would have never said another word about anything in his past especially JFK. He was raised to keep his mouth shut. I convinced him historical truth was important and we are simply doing our part to contribute the real story amongst the propaganda, lost history and volumes of lies that have been told about the assassination of President Kennedy. With these things in mind, let’s begin. First, we’ll give a little background to the war between President Kennedy and the Central Intelligence Agency.
PART I
JFK VS CIA
Why the CIA used Johnny Roselli
James Files: Before we get started, I’d like to clear up one point. The reason the CIA used the Chicago Mob/Outfit to remove JFK from office was the CIA had previously recruited Johnny Roselli to take a contract for supposedly eliminating Castro. This was during the time period between President Eisenhower and President Kennedy right around the time for preparations for the Bay of Pigs, where in 1961, David Phillips had me busy down in Florida helping train anti-Castro Cubans. The CIA offered Johnny a large fee, in which he said, I’m not going to do this for money! I want no pay, for I am a Patriot and I’ll be doing this for my country.
In turn, Johnny Roselli had to go to Sam Giancana and Sam had to go to Tony Accardo.
Therefore, the CIA already had a liaison through Johnny Roselli to the Chicago Outfit. In a matter of time, Johnny was liaison from the CIA to Chicago Outfit for the removal of JFK.
Johnny Roselli found out the hard way he didn’t have a get out of jail free
card because he had done work with the CIA. Once he went to Congress to testify in the 1970s, I saw him walking down the steps on TV and said, Johnny Roselli is a walking dead man.
The CIA could not afford to have him alive and talking. And for the record, the CIA had Johnny, Sam and Chuck killed, not the Outfit.
Why?
People often ask why JFK was assassinated. There are many theories and opinions and the subject has been beat to death with half truths and propaganda over the last half century. My opinion is the same as James Files in some regards but my understanding as to why JFK was killed is more complicated than the CIA did it
. Yes, the CIA did it and they reached out to Organized Crime to do the job. And yes, in some regards it’s that simple but there is so much more to the story.
With the passing of time, research has led me to believe in addition to JFK’s war on the CIA, one big corner of the big picture is that JFK didn’t want to pursue the war in South East Asia. An excellent factual source on this information can be found in the book JFK, The CIA, Vietnam and The Plot To Assassinate John F. Kennedy by L. Fletcher Prouty. From the back cover, Here is the first account of the Kennedy assassination by a top-level insider, a man who had access to the primary documents and personalities, a man whose theories inspired the controversial film JFK. This behind-the-scenes look at how the CIA has shaped post-war U.S. foreign policy is fascinating, as are Prouty’s telling questions about the security arrangements in Dallas.
President Kennedy who was actively withdrawing advisors/soldiers and anticipating winning the 1964 election, in reference to Vietnam said, It’s their war, they’re going to have to win it or lose it.
The lucrative military-industrial-complex contracts had already been handed out as to who was going to profit from the Vietnam War. Overall, with a fresh approach and a New Frontier, Kennedy wanted to end the Cold War and inhabit this small planet and breathe the same air
as people of the Soviet Union.
Yes, Kennedy had made some powerful enemies by declaring his intentions regarding wars, hot or cold, and détente. JFK wanting to limit Israel’s capabilities to develop and acquire nuclear weapons put him on a collision course with CIA counterintelligence interests headed by James Angleton. Moreover, JFK’s war with the Federal Reserve banking system – by printing and circulating US Notes versus Federal Reserve Notes – created even more powerful enemies.
And to top it off, President Kennedy wanted to expose the secrecy surrounding MJ-12 and the two space programs, NASA for public consumption and Black Ops surrounding the Nazi UFOs and secret technology. JFK’s open and private declarations regarding all these matters, in my opinion, were among the primary reasons he was removed in a military-style coup on November 22, 1963. Any one of these reasons or all combined made for a dangerous environment to try and be a president for the people with open transparency policy.
Some people looking for real answers talk about the deep state.
Let’s start with the question …Who controls the military, pentagon, Federal Reserve, secrecy, specifically and in general, secret societies, intelligence and counterintelligence, CIA, FBI, NSA, DIA, Mossad, every alphabet agency known and unknown, fake news, real news, right-wing, left-wing, propaganda and the media and control of information? Who are they? What common thread binds them together? What spiritual forces are at work? The far reaching scope of the answers would take an encyclopedia to write here. Hint: Jesuits.
This book explores the role James Files played in the death of JFK. Was he an unwitting Vatican Assassin? You the reader decide.
Yours truly is the one who sees the JFK assassination as a large conspiracy where not only was the Mob used to remove the president, the CIA was used as well. In my opinion, the proverbial buck does not necessarily stop at Langley HQ. James Files admits to being the least curious person on earth and opposite to him, I am a very curious person and find it fascinating to study true history and find out what really happened.
Most history books about JFK’s removal do not tell the whole story. A few come close but they ignore James Files story like it was the plague. This book may not tell the whole story either but it will shine light on dark corners previously ignored. A quote from James Files, One hundred years from now the history books will say Lee Harvey Oswald was the assassin of President John F. Kennedy and there was no conspiracy.
Yes, many history
books will still promote that lie but we offer an alternative for those seeking the truth.
James Files thinks it was a simple matter of CIA survival. President Kennedy basically declared war on the Agency itself. When JFK said the CIA had to go, the CIA said JFK had to go. Period.
Not long after the JFK assassination, author Mark Lane wrote in his classic book Rush to Judgment: "During the fall of 1963, President Kennedy was committed to ending the policy of utilizing United States military personnel in Vietnam. He also had decided to withdraw the army of CIA operatives from that country. Every American, he stressed, would be out of Vietnam by the end of next year. He ordered the withdrawal of one thousand men, approximately one-sixteenth of the entire United States military force then in the country. The CIA resisted those efforts. The president awaited the 1964 election and the mandate which he hoped to receive in order to dissolve the CIA and to form in its place an intelligence agency loyal to its president. He had already fired the director, Allen Dulles, as well as other leaders of the agency, and he had established unprecedented controls over those who remained.
Among Kennedy’s goals, all to be realized soon after the 1964 election, were the dissolution of the CIA; rapprochement with Cuba and its leader, Fidel Castro; the termination of the war in Vietnam; and a focus upon the domestic problems plaguing America, including the homeless and the hungry. Or at least, so he said. Not everyone believed he was being sincere. Unfortunately, among those who accepted his words at face value were the activists within the CIA.
They saw a burgeoning Kennedy dynasty and the certain death of the CIA. They concluded that they could not afford to patiently await the 1964 election.
On October 3, 1963, Arthur Krock published an important column. Under the prophetic title The Intra-Administration War in Vietnam,
he wrote that in articles originating in Washington
the White House has declared war on the CIA. Krock observed that in the past there had been criticism of the CIA, with the executive branch providing confidential source material, and added, But peak of the practice has recently been reached in Vietnam and Washington.
He continued: This is revealed almost every day now in dispatches from reporters – in close touch with intra-Administration critics of the CIA – with excellent reputations for reliability.
Citing one such reporter, Krock wrote, ‘according to a high United States source’
on two separate occasions ‘the CIA flatly refused to carry out instructions from Ambassador Henry Cabot Lodge.’
Krock continued that the CIA ‘in one instance frustrated a plan of action Mr. Lodge brought from Washington [from the president]…because the agency disagreed with it.’
Krock observed that in releasing this information the Executive branches have expanded their war against the CIA from the inner government councils to the American people via the press.
In a chilling conclusion, Krock, relying on the ‘high official’
and a source with an excellent reputation for reliability, wrote that ‘if the United States ever experiences an attempt at a coup to overthrow the Government it will come from the CIA.’
The next month Kennedy was shot to death. His war against the CIA had not been taken to the American people in time to prevent the assassination. Perhaps the very announcement of that war so alarmed the CIA that its activists felt constrained to act before JFK’s war was won and the CIA became merely a memory of a troubled past most Americans would have preferred to forget.
Lane goes on to say, It was revealed later [under the Freedom of Information Act] that
propaganda assets and friendly elite contacts" with impressive credentials have played an important, perhaps decisive, role in carrying only the official version of the assassination events and suppressing the nonconforming new, all in an attempt to shape public opinion.
Among the inadvertent assets were Anthony Lewis of the New York Times and Walter Cronkite of CBS-TV news, George Lardner, Jr., of the Washington Post, Jeremiah O’Leary of the Washington Star, special pleader William F. Buckley Jr., of the National Review and scores of others with less recognizable names were likely more knowing.
Still unknown are the names of all those who carried weapons behind the wooden fence on the grassy knoll and the other sniper locations and fired them from there.

The Shots of Dallas
The word went out in early sixty-three
That they must stop this crazy Kennedy
Three men who specialized in death would meet
To share a closely guarded secret they would keep.
From back East they called Big Sam in Chicago.
Sam’s team was waiting for the word to go
He said he had a team the G could never stop
For a special job like this he had the cream of the crop.
The team was led by a man called Nicoletti
And second in command, his long time friend Roselli
Nicoletti called for his driver, a lad of twenty-one
He said go to Dallas; take my Chevy and my guns.
It was early morning the rain was slowly falling
Nicoletti told his driver, I hear destiny a calling
Just past noon the sun broke through, Kennedy in sight
Shots were fired behind and one fired from the right.
For word went out in early sixty-three
That we must stop this crazy Kennedy
Nicoletti and Roselli’s dead and now I’m old
After thirty years of lies, the truth can now be told.
Yes, the truth can now be told.

PART II
How the CIA Used the Chicago Mob to Kill the President
James Files Interview with History:
The JFK Assassination
23%20IM%20INSERT.jpgInterview with History: The JFK Assassination
The Interview with History continues. This is a companion book to our previously published work Interview with History: The JFK Assassination. The following information is for those who are familiar with James Files’ story as well as for a new generation of JFK researchers. The new details are ongoing revelations from James Files regarding his participation in the JFK assassination. Previously, James Files kept the disclosures of his activities focused more on the Chicago mob’s role and touched briefly upon the CIA’s involvement. I’ve asked him to reveal more details so people can understand what exactly transpired in the events leading up to November 22, 1963. In our previous book, Interview with History: The JFK Assassination, (written and published while James Files was still in prison) we did not think he would survive prison or gain his freedom. With all our calls and letters highly monitored, I threw caution to the wind and went into a lot more detail about the top level of the conspiracy. We had no idea he would get out and live to tell more of the story.
To this day, James Files does not study, research,
