KATHLEEN WATTS was born in Cambridgeshire, England, and is now living along the foothills of the Wasatch Mountain Range in Utah. Kathleen has spent decades of her life exploring the possibilities and probabilities of myth. A self proclaimed myth writer, Kathleen’s latest work in progress Payback is a glitch … has captured her imagination as she explores the groundbreaking and sometimes blasphemous idea of mind/time/metamorphic fields and imagination/space/metaphoric fields and how our cultural stories are animated and brought to life and who, exactly, is doing the animating.

Introduction
Culprit: Noun \’kel-pret\
A person whose life
is based on the law of distraction …
Non Sequitur: Noun \’nan-‘se-kwe-ter also -,tur\
a statement (as a response) that does not follow logically from or
is not clearly related to anything previously said.
Etymology
Literally the expression is Latin for, It does not follow.
It comes from the word non, meaning not, and the deponent verb sequor, sequi, secutus sum, as in sequence,
meaning to follow.
Non Sequitur Disclaimer
Weird is a matter of degrees.
Olivia Dunham
Fringe, TV series, 2008–2013
i begin this story
at the theater where
taylor and i had gone to
see one flew over the cuckoo’s nest …
i have started it here
because i believe this is where
the overall experience was set in motion …
i am also including a non sequitur
disclaimer in this section sow you will
know that even though part one seems to drift
a little off subject, you will have my assurance that it is naught …
that i am indeed staying on task
and that one thing will indelibly lead to the other …
i will tell you this …
running into a spaceship
and being abducted by aliens
and then abducted from those aliens
by another extraterrestrial might naught be
the strangest thing that happened to me that evening …
maybe naught even
the most influential thing …
if you read the cover of this book,
then you already know where my narrative is headed …
you already know that i am
going to tell you about a spaceship …
you already know that i am
going to tell you about a close encounter …
you already know that i am
going to take you on a repudiated journey …
i just wanted to make sure
you knew the events leading up to the story …
the earth-shattering
impact the movie had on me …
the weight of the last straw …
my frame of mind …
or lack thereof …
being catapulted
outside of the dream …
my sudden unaccountability
inside the larger scheme of things …
the unrelenting perception of my obviousness …
perhaps i was being obvious …
perhaps there are beings
in this world whose purpose it is
to count and account for the accountable …
from puberty to participant …
i do naught doubt it …
naught one little bit …
i suppose an audit was inevitable …
Heads-Up
the words sow and naught
are spelled correctly based on
the way i am using them in sentences …
and …
the fact that
i am a hypnotist …
i swear i have been
a hypnotist for sow long now
my language simply comes out this way …
remember also …
i do naught mind if
you believe in my story …
or naught …
i only hope that
you enjoy the reading …
that you enjoy the
possibilities and the probabilities …
your belief in my story
is naught a prerequisite for anything …
anything at all …
