    Gratitude

I dedicate this book to my lovely family that have been a backbone of my life, who helped me to archive what I have archived in life and most importantly to be able to write this book. I also thank my parents who made me who I am today and prepared me for this exclusive journey in my life. And to my grandmother who was a rock in my life.

    Prologue

I had a few stops to go for my destination, flipping through my phone; I looked up and noticed it was only two of us remaining in my coach. It was a long morning daily journey from South to the North of this great city, which I had grown to understand quite very well.

I walked with my head up as usual, my worn-out bag clinched over my shoulder up to half way on my back, I grabbed the free newspaper from the old man standing beside the train station exit, on my way out pacing through the moving crowds towards the waiting que at the zebra crossing.

I didn’t care looking at the two fellows holding long black tubes, waiting on the other side of the road or the lady walking besides me dressed like a clown with long colourful socks up to her knees and a short purple dress with a big wig on her head. Most of this was for me to raise a comment or laugh, but I always picked them up easily and passed by the side very quickly to continue my journey. At the corner I always looked up to see the rainbow shaped metal arch.

This was a sign for me that my place of work was just a few yards away from me. I always avoided the men in dark blue navy
