About this ebook

This is the fifth book by the author Hugo D. Menendez. In this book, he again returns to writing a fictional story. His first book, Violation of Trust, is a true story that provides the reader with an inside view of organized crime and labor racketeering. His second book, Abuse of Process, details a true story of an attempted extortion and the creative investigation that solved the case. The third book, The Dancing Will Never End, is a short story about the love affair with his wife. The fourth book, The Answer, is a fictional story about a scientist who makes a discovery that caused his death and the death of others due to the national security significances of the discovery.

Mr. Menendezs style of writing will allow the readers to feel as if they are part of the story.

This fictional story, Horror on the Sea Master, details the life of a young Japanese man who was a genius. He became a highly regarded naval engineer and naval captain. It was always his dream to build the largest and the most technologically built ship in the world. He was successful in attaining his dream by finally building such a ship. He felt that by building the ship, he would restore the honor and prestige of Japan and establish Japan as an industrial power in the world once again.

Those that traveled on the Sea Masters maiden voyage, as well as the world, never imagined the impact the Sea Master would have.

His leadership and guidance led to convictions in numerous racketeering cases involving the highest ranking labor racketeers in the country … . In 1984 through 1986 he received the ultimate accolade from his Nation by virtue of a Presidential appointment to the President’s Commission on Organized C rime.

    DEDICATION

T his book, as my previous three, was written as a result of my wife Cleo’s encouragement that I write a book about my many varied experiences while working for the Federal Government as well as my experiences as Secretary of Labor for the State of Florida and as a licensed private investig ator.

When we were but mere children, she saw in me a potential that I was not aware of. If it had not been for her encouragement to be all I could be and her support, often times sacrificing her own potential, my career would have probably been that of a stock clerk at a local super market. She is my hero and was always the wind beneath my wings.

I thank Cleo for her encouragement and faith in me. My deepest regret is that she is not here to read the books that I have written as a result of her love, encouragement and faith in me.
