Melchora A. Damian Bilgera
Melchora Damian Bilgera was born, raised and worked in Bangued at the Divine Word College as a high school and college mentor; she has been a full professor at Philippine Normal University handling graduate and undergraduate courses in the areas of Reading and Linguistics. Besides her book, When Grandpas Fairy Flew Away, she has written a dozen of textbooks for Philippine students in three levels: elementary, high school and college. Her Masters degree in TESL {Teaching English as A Second Language} at the University of the Philippines as a UPDEC scholar, her training in Linguistics at the Regional Language Center in Singapore as a SEAMEO RELC grantee followed by her Post -Doctoral Enrichment program as a Fulbright scholar at San Francisco State University have afforded her invaluable experiences as a student, a mentor and as a member of the global society.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5The book makes me nostalgic, makes me long for my beloved home, the place where I first seen the light of day, spent my childhood until my teen. Reading each page transport me to the old town and reminds me of my cherished childhood. Reading familiar names to include my deceased mom's made me even more emotional. While I always go back to Bangued at least once a year, I couldn't get enough of its splendor. There is really no place like home...
