Will There Be Another Lincoln, Nixon, Johnson or Kennedy?
()
About this ebook
Will There Be Another Lincoln, Nixon, Johnson or Kennedy is a narrative on the injustices served to a minority worker in the Building and Construction Industry. The author reviews his experience as a construction worker and the problems he encountered obtaining work. The author is of the belief that the problem is highly attributive to the pigmentation of his skin and his racial ethnicity. He incorporates the philosophies, the ideals and the ideologies of the United States, and what this country stands for as his basis for clearly stating the unfairness brought upon him; thus resulting in financial woes for him and his family.
The story sheds light on the "Racial Web" of happenings both within and outside the immediate work place in our society, with
special emphasis on the Construction Industry. The socio-equalitarianism inadequateness and injustices within the industry which goes relatively unnoticed by the general American public. He uses references from past and current happenings in our society, both of humane and inhumane nature, to establish an imaginary high standard of achievement in a "Just" society.
The author sees it as befitting and appropriate to dialogue and elaborate on life's interaction as it relates to happenings in New
York City, it being the general location where he actually encountered his bitter experiences; despite it being notarized, and proclaimed as the "number one humanitarian capital of the new world". Also aiding as a stimulative motivator, as well as a
beacon of hope for this venture, is the author's firm belief in equality of humanities, especially when factoring in his son as well as peers of his son's future into consideration.
A marvelous, exceptional, creative and a well written book, intriguingly conceived and well researched work, addressing
concerns of the status quo, with profound effect emphasis on the reaffirmation and the revitalization of Affirmative Action.

PS. Astonishingly this manuscript which has been touted, and even gotten brave reviews as the most factual and forth coming socio humanitarian story in decades has been in search of a Publishing Home in excess of two decades. However, the author embraced the opportunity incurred by the misfortunes and the setbacks of which were numerous to capitalize, expand, add, modify, and re-modify developments as they unfolded with the status quo. Recommended for its honesty, its insights, and its readability, I am confident it will appeal to all readers.
A Picture Is Worth a Thousand Words
The picture shown on the front of this book along with its title is the subject of what we are about to dialogue. It could be worth a thousand words or more. However, the following is a brief memo of what this picture is depicting. The tale of two nations which represents two great continents struggling to find common ground within its inhabitants. Let’s start with America which is to our left, West on our diagram. America, the land of opportunity, the land of milk and honey, the United States of America. If you notice carefully on the diagram you will see that there’s a question sign after United. This is an open question. Are we united? If not, why? The word pass is taken from the conjoined word Passport. In this context apart from being a legal document enabling one to travel to and from, back and forth. Here it is being used in multiple ways traveling, leaving, passing, pass and port.
From due North it appears as if we are passing over the States, leaving the States, and have actually left the States. Indications also shows that we are leaving from the shaded area which seems to be New York, the Empire State, otherwise known as the Big Apple. It is also obvious that we are using the quickest affordable means. Not to make mention of the Concord Super-Sonic, for those who can afford it.
Port
: The Port that we are seemingly navigating towards is the home of the Kilimanjaro, the Nile and the Eden. Now we have arrived in our second continent and nation which is Mother Africa. THE MOTHER LAND.
The mother of all nations! United States of Africa
. At this present moment they are not united. Just as we are not as a people, a Race and Races. Hopefully someday they will. As was in the beginning. Maybe it will begin on foreign soil, then, eventually the message will finally reach home. It is a known phenomenon that some folks learn to dance at home, whereas others learn to dance abroad.
Again, we are interacting with the word Passport, this time around it is being used in another context. As many of us are passing Africa, likewise over Africa. Many of us are also leaving Africa. However, I am happy to say not like in the good old days of our Holocaust. Note the point at which we are leaving from. -Not trying to be a comedian, but we all ought to have tasted the coffee by now. For those who are leaving; though undecided; with the hope of discovering the new world; they seemingly chose to take the slower means of transportation, despite having access to the modern, quicker means. Also in the event of a change of mind, or some mishap there would be the likely possibility that they could be rescued and returned to Africa! Amazingly, not only returned, but returned with a sense of conviction, a more conscious and affirmative mind, accepting and acknowledging the concept that Africa is in fact home.
Unlike the days of the Trans-Atlantic Voyages, when our ancestors had no knowledge of where they were being taken; no choice of their port of destination. For those who are still interested in discovering certain shores of the ‘new world’, many of us now have an option. By now it should be obvious that our subject here is ‘Port! For us new-comers, freshmen, rookies, sophomores; the new, and now generations, offsprings, like myself, who manage to make it to our discoveries; our ports are widely spread! Again, Unlike the ‘golden days’ we’ve heard of them! The days of Pure Black Human Sacrificial Gold which we at times hate to be reminded of. For us who read the history books, or heard the stories telling how we would try to escape from the South to the North in search of refuge. Amazing how God works in his wonders. Now, the South is where we now have the tendency to want to be. ‘Hush’! with a smile; The Centennial Olympic Games
an independent subject. To climax it all, whatever your interpretations, the orange yellow which stands out in this case, expresses, and illuminates’ rays of hopes on the horizon.
About The Author
S.J. Archer was born in the tiny paradise island of Jamaica W.I. in the Parish of Saint Ann (The Garden Parish). He is the 3rd. of eight children for his parents. Unfortunately his dad took the Higher Road earlier. He received basically all his early and post-secondary education in Jamaica West Indies.
While growing up as a youth he encountered major financial obstacles but he never gave up hope. With his relentless determination, ability, self-guidance, inner motility and assistance from those who saw his potentials he was able to complete higher studies, of which he majored in drafting.
As a draughtsman Mr. Archer worked for various outfits including Reynolds Jamaica Mines which later became Reynolds Bauxite Company. A once pioneer of Bauxite Mineral mining in Jamaica! There he worked as a draughtsman, ore reserve technician. Duties of which included, plotting of contour and topographical maps, plotting and layout of haulage roads, consisting of center cuts drainage and slopes. Plotting of cross sections of mined out orebodies. Preparation of mining lease maps, outlining ore-bodies to be mined. Preparation of estimates for haulage roads and reclaimed mined-out orebodies.
Mr. Archer’s duties then, also involved keeping data of silica contents and supervision of labor crew in special field work. Supervision of tours with the Ministry of Mines inspectors of which included the inspection of reclaimed orebodies. There are numerous other duties that was performed by Mr. Archer during his tenor ship at Reynolds Bauxite Company.
After working for Reynolds for a number of years Mr. Archer migrated to Canada in pursuit of a Mining Engineering Degree. However as fate would have it, what started out as a dream come true
was unfortunately cut short and not to be. Just when Mr. Archer studying faculties were just about pumping again after being away from school for so long he encountered yet another set-back in liked form, of which he was no stranger to, financially.
This ambitious aspirer was forced to quit school, thus not being able to complete and achieve his immediate dreams then. He later relocated to the United States of America, with his soul intentions being to make the best of what was left of his life and hopefully to continue and complete his career.
Unlike the umpteen of millions who came in search of their dreams. Unlike the unfortunate millions who were forced to end up on these shores. Like the hundreds of thousands who already saw their dreams slipping away upon landing on these shores. Be it via Bedloe’s Island now Ellis Island. Be it via the world largest airport J.F.K. International. The new Ellis Island modernization, or via smaller ports of entry, or whatever form of entry. Not to reflect on some of the worst form of entries that can still be seen and heard of, on 21st. Century Airwaves.
An individual statistic of those who saw their dreams seeping way after entering the shores of New York. Mr. Archer accepted the challenge. He approached it courageously, though cautiously. Often hit by turbulences, which automatically forced him to unexpected altitudes, though in most instances he has always managed to touch down safely, although rocky! However, over the last few years Mr. Archer has been trapped which subsequently forced him to withstand gale-force pressure of undescribed magnitudes. Lo: simply trying to get ends to meet. A firm believer, and a strong advocate of his past, present, and future Roots, and the Equal Existence of Humanity, A Philanthropist of which speaks for itself, should one trace and retrace his social history.
With his in-depth, and unmeasurable voluntary and courageous contributions to society not only in Jamaica his native island, but also within the confines of the United States and especially in New York City. How could he afford, or ill-afford, to be demised. How could he accept dejection, and demoralization, yet keep it within, and beneath the closet. With the already established fact-whenever the foundation is destroyed, by whatever means the building, or the main structure will, and must collapse if an effort, or efforts are not implemented to reinforce it.
Unlike some writers, and authors who do research and maybe at times excessive researches although at times the nature of the story necessitates it. This author saw, watched, and made his observations. He gave graciously, and generously, though received not, when in need. He heard, listened, took. He read, noted and remembered. Now he has finally spoken; After experiencing devious deeds which had surmounted to optimum capacity.
The author is not telling any party or parties how to run their show, the programme, or how to relinquish administrative duties. Instead, he is simply suggesting and recommending! Having interacted with scenarios which embodies same. In an effort to keep his undescribed hypertension level to its minimal whilst dodging the doctor on matters relating to these scenarios. The author tries to devote time to his hobbies, which includes music, reading, jogging, kicking of a soccer ball, often by use of a Soccer Pal. and occasionally assist in the coaching of soccer with his Little League teams. Amidst Not ruling out time spent with his son, whose dreams he sees as being thwarted by he not being able to provide for him as he would have loved to.
The author hopes you’ll be enriched by what you are about to read and hopefully by observing its message you will help to create a difference in, and within the societies in which we live!
