Why I Wrote The Book
The term FINANCIAL LITERACY
is being used so often the actual meaning is not resonating with people in a way that can change their lives. We believe that the true meaning has to be practical and useful in a way that can help people develop the knowledge & skills to: take care of their children, pay bills without stress, or just be able to enjoy some of life’s pleasures. Quite simply, people want to function normally in our American way of life. Financial Literacy should be the formula for successful living. It is not just budgets or finance, it is being able to understand and utilize an effective discipline, with the end result being; a better lifestyle and peace of mind. Here is our working definition of financial literacy:
KNOWLEDGE OF THE LIFE & MONEY SKILLS NECESSARY TO OPERATE YOUR FINANCES, INCLUDING; EMPLOYMENT, SPENDING & SAVINGS HABITS, HOW MONEY GROWS, HOW YOU GROW IN THE EMPLOYMENT ENVIRONMENT, AND ULTIMATELY HOW TO MAKE THESE DECISIONS LAST THROUGH GENERATIONS
(RIM Group 2013)
