FOREWORD
Thank you for picking up this book.
When I began my career, I had a tremendous amount of ambition and was driven to become one of the best professional drivers in the industry. I was very quickly humbled by how much there was to learn on a continuous basis and there was almost always something new.
Bear in mind that the reason for this book is to address and make you aware of things I learned the hard way or by advice given to me. Believe me when I tell you this book won’t make you a true professional; only a sincere desire to do the best job you can safely and efficiently, coupled with a lot of experience will make you a great driver.
As you travel this path remember that someone along the way was kind enough to help you, so it’s right that you pay it forward. When someone asks for the best way to get somewhere, tell them. Check a map and help if you can. If you see another driver broken down and you have time, stop and try to help. Remember what you’ve read, what you’ve been told and try to do as you’re asked to the best of your ability.
All the best to each of you and please be careful out
