Anderson, South Carolina (SC) is located in the part of Anderson County, which sits in the Northwest corner of the state, on the banks of Lake Hartwell, which is a part of the Savannah River System that separates South Carolina and Georgia. Anderson was once the home and inhabited land of the Cherokee Indians. It wasn’t until 1777 that the land, then called the Pendleton District, was given over to the Revolutionary War heroes Andrew Pickens and General Robert Anderson, by the negotiations of a treaty.
