About this ebook

As a youngster, Mark Lemann grew up in the rural village of Kiel, Germany, and helped his family by tending to the livestock. A bright student, Mark attended college and hoped to earn a degree. But the start of World War II in 1939 demolished that dream. He returned home to help his parents on the farm. Soon, the war caught up to him, and he was obliged to join the army.

Not to squander his intelligence, the German army enlisted Mark as an espionage soldier, one who deciphered codes received from the British and American armies. One night, Mark intercepted a message that would change the course of his life. He found himself on the other side of the war, and he fought tirelessly to protect the new family he joined.

Mist of Love Fog of War follows Mark Lemann as he navigates the trials of World War II, traveling through Europe escaping both his allies and his enemies.

    About the Author

To all the family members that has lost loved ones as a consequence of many belligerent wars.

And to the people of my country Lebanon, that has suffered for

many years because of terrorism and bad politics.

All war is a symptom of man’s failure as a thinking animal.

    -John Steinbeck

Existing in a hostile environment brings out the best in one’s self. Yet our human greed and selfishness prevents us from permitting each other to flourish.

So I took a decision of showing how mankind is willing to do anything to safeguard himself, even if it meant placing his loved ones in harm’s way.

While trying to explain how politicians use human effort against its own people for completely selfish reasons. They accomplished that by not only taking advantage of wars but also poverty. In a situation where silence is conventional, I decided to stand out…

So in hopes that my work would not offend any individuals, I present to you an example of a man that had suffered during one of the bloodiest wars mankind has ever seen. Experienced the worst kind of mental suffering and heartsickness, yet the only justification for that matter was well… the limited human mind I guess.

This content is based on actual events that occurred during World War II in France, Germany, England and southern Ireland.

Note: Although the events are true, the story written is completely fictional.

After ceasing the war, they entered the dormitories looking for any supplies that might aid them reach their designated rendezvous. Little did they know that they were about to uncover a phenomenon that would most likely change the judgment of anyone that opposes it. They found an element covered with dust and barely recognizable located under one of the generals beds, it turned out to be a diary, more of a legend it seemed. Regardless of its form, it contained an odd story, one that described the sorrows of a man that went by the name of Mark Lemann, a name that will forever be tied to infamy, a man that will shape the epicenter of our story.

It all began early before the kickoff of World War II in 1939, where Mark was a farm boy that used to take care of livestock making a living for his parents; the farm was located in Kiel a small village in Germany.

Mark was a well-educated child, because his parents were very vigilant about that particular matter, for all their hopes of leaving the farm life
