Niel Lun Yeh
Mr. Nien Lun Yeh is a British Chinese citizen and literary writer, publishing in both English and Chinese in Britain, China, Hong Kong, and Singapore. The book The Heavenly Planet is the author’s first trial for poetic social fiction genre as he calls aiming at presenting an imaginary future world to spark the readers’ thinking for human future. The author describes himself “an abnormal normal man,” meaning he is either abnormal and the others are normal or vice versa. Why? Read his poetic social fiction, which he created to see how much you can understand, think, and develop. He expects the effect of “throwing a stone to get a jade” as a Chinese saying says.

Preface
Nien Lun Yeh, who was born and grew up in China and later emigrated to the U.K, works as a West-China Culture and Trade Consultant. Besides doing many technical translations, he also writes stories about life in the West and China.
The Heavenly Planet
is a poetic novel of social fiction as he calls it, describing how because of their unlimited greed human beings have been exhausting the natural resources and rapidly destroying the Earth, and how the Earth is now taking revenge. Some scientists then discover another planet in the universe with the same natural conditions as the Earth. Thus they named as the Heavenly Planet.
The contemporary famous scientist Stephen Hawkings predicted that human beings will emigrate to another planet. The two relevant questions Yeh would like to ask are
1. Why will human beings have to go to another planet?
2. And if some day they can really move to another planet, will they destroy it as they have on the Earth resulting eventually in their having nowhere to stay again?
Yeh summarizes some foundamental social causes of the extinction of the human beings on Earth. He thinks that the key reasons are that human beings are divided by races, religions, political parties and countries, and that they cannot unite to effectively protect the environment and nature. He suggests some improvements and solutions when they move to the Heavenly Planet.
His real intent is not to move to another planet and his suggestions may not all be correct. He just wants to warn the readers to seriously consider about the possible destruction of human beings on the Earth and invite them to suggest improvements and solutions to slow down or avoid this fate.
I would like to express my particular thanks to John Hamilton, the Professor of English in Aichi University, Japan for his help in producing this Book in English.
