About this ebook

Jeremy Garcon's poetry goes for the jugular typically his own.

A master storyteller and communicator, Garcon takes an unflnching look at life and love, relationships and sex, monogamy, marriage, and growing up in a dysfunctional family and world. Lip Service gives voice to characters and dialogue in a way few poetry collections have and it leaves readers laughing, longing, and wanting more.

"These are amazing poems, Jeremy Garcon is very smart

one way we know is that he put the poem Think first.

Read that and just try not to read the rest."

For Liz Rees – without you, I’d never have been able to think.

    Think

You’d think my partner would be kind

    enough to remove his boyfriend’s

water glass from my side of the bed.

I mean, I don’t drink water at night

so it’s not like he’s confused.

The Boy Scouts taught him kindness

and respect, the importance of leaving

a camp site the way you found it.

    But, sometimes, lessons get tangled

    by distractions, things like:

other boys in a troop—or our bed.

And an ecosystem can be forever altered

    by something as small as

    a water glass left behind.

    Half empty, half full,

    depending
