AUTHOR’S NOTE
T HIS BOOK MAPS the terrain of lovers’ consciousness, marking a moment when we finally give ourselves permission to be concerned about ourselves and to look at the range of issues implied by our quest for physical, spiritual and emotional love. Lovers Out to Score is a story most of you (my readers) might have been there and done that. Anyway, may you enjoy your reading. Special thanks to Sylvester for inspiring me to write this book.
I T WAS IN the month of September when a young man by the name of Sylvester went into a men’s department store, looking to find an outfit for his thirtieth birthday dinner party. He made his way up to the second floor of the store. He spotted a woman much older than himself working with one of her clients. Sylvester spoke to her with a smile on his face.
Hello,
he said to her. Karen was her name.
Hi there!
she said to Sylvester.
She asked if she could assist him in finding what he needed. As they began to select items for him to wear, he started flirting with her on the sly. He told her how fine she looked. She replied with why thank you.
While they were talking about what he was going to wear, he invited her to his dinner party. Then he told Karen that he had a confession as she was walking away.
I’ve wanted to talk to you for four years.
What!
she replied with a smile
