PROLOGUE
My collection of film criticism can be enjoyed and appreciated by several audiences. This Book Is For You.
Light reading in larger print is a new wave of the future I am sure. The movies are ever so popular and my reviews can give the reader, a junior audience as well, language skills with which to discuss the movie afterward with friends, family, or peers and increase one’s social skills: This Is Very Important! Moreover the movie industry is Hollywood including Robert Redford’s Sundance Film Festival in Utah is an enormous gathering of talented individuals and creativity. The impact is eventually felt everywhere, no one should be left out. Maybe you will eventually aspire to become a film critic and show up at a preview of a movie on opening night in dark glasses and long gloves, a key player or star in your own right.
Jayne Blair has a Master’s Degree in English Literature and Language from the University of Utah and studied with film critic Andrew Sarris in New York City.
ONE NIGHT IN PARIS
#1 DVD—The Paris Hilton’s Sex Video
The Paris Hilton sex video, a DVD entitled ONE NIGHT IN PARIS has circulated for some time in the entertainment industry. I did not see this flick running an hour or more, in a movie theatre. I purchased the DVD in Las Vegas while I was living there for four years. I am sure this DVD created some controversy. It was quite shocking and somewhat indecent. I was surprised by it, having read the tabloids and star magazines about the heiress. Sex sells, we know that. I am sure Paris likes to make a profit on her projects. She has had many including, fashion photos, movies from Hollywood, books and perfumes. I read that 50% of the men in the world have seen part of this DVD. Could it possibly be so? If so, should one be left out of action like that? NO!
I usually don’t see movies like this as it might be classified as a soft porn movie.
But because Paris Hilton has unmistakably made a point of departure with the rich, I decided to.
From a critic’s viewpoint the costumes were horrible: there were not any, short of a bra and panties and some dark hosiery. Further the staging, the bedroom was clearly not posh
at all. One redeeming factor is that we know for certain that Paris likes men, as one has also seen her in the tabloids with many boyfriends including her Greek boyfriends that held our attention and spotlight for some time. At one point the public read of her engagement to be married in fact, which will
