About this ebook

In my youth I began to feel that there was something odd about existence,
that I just couldnt seem to clearly identify. As I continued to ponder and
tried to rationalize my perspective of our physical reality, I struggled to
fi nd a way to even begin to explain what I felt, what I knew to be truth, that
there is so much more to our existence than what we can actually perceive, all
around us, that science is just as important as spirituality, and that fact truly
is often stranger than fi ction. The information contained in this book, I feel,
is important to all human kind. It is the closest I have come to expressing
what I feel to be truth, in terms of science and reason. May we all learn to see
reality for what it truly is, and not just what we see on the surface.

Existence, as I Understand It
Author

Kenneth V. Garbett

Canadian author, Kenneth V. Garbett, at a young age began to pursue interests in art & music, and was selected to take part in a science enrichment program through the local board of education. Being raised in a Christian home, Kenneth also had attended 4 semesters of seminary. Feeling that he couldn’t personally identify with the religious institution, their beliefs, and their explanations, he left the church and sought to fi nd his own answers by means of his own methods, namely; studying the world’s religions, theology & mythology; studying physics and other sciences; meditation & personal spiritual observation. His journey through life so far has led him across Canada, meeting various academics, spiritual leaders, artists, musicians, and other interesting people along the way. This journey has also led him into the wilderness, where while gazing into the night sky, he came to understand what it means to ‘be one with all’.

    INTRODUCTION

It is widely believed, by astronomers, physicists, and the scientific community, that the Universe began at a single moment, though it is not clearly explained what or where it came from. We, as a modern civilization, know that energy cannot be created or destroyed, only transformed. Therefore, there must have been a source from which the Universe was able to begin its evolution.

So I ask, what was this source of energy? There are a few thoughts on this matter, but what I believe to be correct, in this matter, is similar to the Primeval Atom concept by Georges Lemaitre. My interpretation of this, is that the Primeval Atom was a Quantum Singularity. Basically, a seething hot mass of super condensed energy, that rotates at near light speed. It has incredibly potent Electromagnetic energy, and an intense field of Gravity.

When you think of an atom, you think of something that is very small, so small in fact that you can’t even see it without a specific type of microscope. When the Primeval Atom existed, it was the only thing that physically existed. Therefore, there could be no basis of comparison to measure its mass or volume. In this way, it can be both microscopic and gigantic at the same time, depending how you choose to perceive it. If you observe it as an atom, it is microscopic, but if you consider that it is the only object in existence, that would mean that at this point it is also the entire Universe.

In the 20th century, after the Big Bang Theory was accepted by the science community, the Catholic Church tried to use this new knowledge, that the Universe had a beginning, as proof that God exists and did create the Universe. This obviously did not sit well with some of the physicists and the science community who had developed the theory. Einstein was one of the brilliant minds that contributed to the standard model of how our Universe evolves, and came to exist. He was a man of science, mathematics, logic, and of God. He felt that there had to be a formula to explain how relativity, and observation of an apparently expanding Universe, could still exist in a steady state. This was his unsuccessful attempt of Unified Field Theory. His observation and mathematics were in conflict with his personal beliefs, of God being the creator of our Universe.

My interpretation of a God’s role in creation, is that a God didn’t create anything, but rather God is everything, in motion & Energy. Everything in the Universe, including the Universe itself, has motion and energy. Every bit of matter, antimatter, every atom, every electron, every particle and wave, and even pure raw energy, has motion. Nothing is still. God, as I understand it, has no exclusively unique form or feelings, that are separate from all of its expressions. It doesn’t have will, as we can understand it. God is a verb…, it is a Doing, and not just a state of Being.

My personal view on God, or Gods, is that God is not something that is separate from the rest of existence. I don’t like referring to it as ‘God’, but what ever it is named, it is in all of us. It is in every Atom, particle, & frequency. It is the Energy that spawned the Universe, the same energy that exists now. It is the Universe itself, it is Space-Time. It is beyond what we can understand as three dimensional beings. We are simply a physical extension of the totality of existence. One small part of the big picture. Our physical realm is but the lowest state of being.

Though I have at times been closer to being an atheist than a theologian, I must confess, there does seem to be something mysterious, even magical, about the forces of nature and the Universe. The way many things seem to be related on multiple levels, the patterns that repeat throughout the Universe; the mapping of the Cosmic Web compared to the Synapses of a Human brain, from the structures of galaxies, to the structures of atoms, subatomic particles, waves, and the varied harmonious frequencies therein. There are only a finite number of frequencies that share a common denominator (harmony), that exist among the abundance of discordant frequencies within the abyss of chaos that was existence before the point in time from which the Big Bang Theory can explain.

There have been several times in my life, when coincidence is simply not an acceptable explanation. Good science is good observation, I cannot ignore the things I have learned, experienced, and witnessed thus far in my Human existence. There is definitely some kind of Cosmic Energy, unseen to most of us, that seems to bring harmony and chaos together. Something that enables us to be more than just the sum of our parts.

It is important to understand where we come from, to know what events led up to our existence in the Cosmos. To do that we must understand some of the fundamental principles of physics. There are four fundamental forces in the Universe. These forces govern all physical existence, and enable cosmic evolution to take place.

    1) Electromagnetism is what enables all things to have either a positive or negative charge. This force governs all things related to both Electricity; the flow of Electrons, and Magnetism; the attraction or repulsion of matter and energy, based on their positive or negative charge.

    2) Gravity is the attraction of mass by means of warping or distorting Spacetime. Essentially,
