    Dear Miss Louise,

    I guess I should tell you how I came to be Mom’s forever dog. It was a beautiful bright sunshiny day in July when Mom came to see me at my former owner’s home. I was in a pen with my two siblings. Mom said she was only interested in a female puppy. She said the boys were cute, but she wasn’t interested in any little leg raisers. Those were my sentiments exactly; I’d had enough of the boys peeing on me. My owner lifted me out of the pen, and I frolicked all over my soon to be new mom. She just fell in love with me. She told my owner she would be back to pick me up in the morning. Mom went out and purchased a beautiful pink harness and leash for me. They were just like the ones I had been dreaming about all my life. Mom also bought me my very own car seat, crate, and lots of dog toys. Can you imagine that? Wow! I knew my new mom was someone special. She wanted to keep me safe in the car.

    Mom returned the next day to pick me up. I had just turned three months old. She took me home and showed me the house and the outside patio where I was to go and do my business on paper she had put down for me. I was used to going on paper, but I had never been inside a house. I was busy exploring my new digs when I stopped and peed on the floor. Mom swept me up and put me outside on the paper. After three or four times of Mom swooping down on me, I started getting the hang of things. My new home was not
