    Chapter One

    Life at Azmovik Military Facility

A lzek’s dream was terrifying, much more terrifying. It appeared once every week, and left him sleepless: a nightmare, horrific in nature, more cruel and formidable than death itself. In his dream he was in the United States of America on a vacation of his life with lots of luggage. Moments after he landed on the airport, after passing the checkpoint, a scream was heard that he had a bomb in his bags. People started fleeing from him, everyone, including police. Moments later, there was an intense vibration that came from one of his bags. He began to shiver as if there was an earthquake, so intense that everything shook and radiation light spiraled from that particular bag. He stared around about himself and there was none. Folks fled from him, shouting ‘a nuclear bomb!’ By that moment he was weak because of radiation waves, and then an explosion followed; extremely deadly – nothing ever witnessed before. A huge mushroom cloud followed, seconds later, there was intense heat, exceedingly hot that strong metals melted, buildings crumbled and flattened as if they never existed. The mushroom cloud was about sixty kilometers above the city. He watched as every living thing was squashed in a twinkling on an eye. The city of New York was flattened by mighty shock waves. The statue of Liberty tottered and collapsed instantly. The shock waves continued to the Atlantic Ocean, high waves of water rose to about five hundred meters in height. For a moment he thought it was indeed happening. He screamed helplessly, gazing around to see if emergency personnel would come to his rescue. It looked so real and catastrophic. All subways and road systems completely destroyed. Thick dark smoke ensued afterwards. Weird enough, almost all citizens of New York were dead, but he was alive, his body had sustained third degree burns. Moments after the explosion, he was lifted up in the sky, high enough to see the states of New York, New Jersey; Pennsylvania, Washington and other surrounding states. The White House was literally a heap of rumbles, no signs that buildings and infrastructures ever existed. There were bodies, millions and millions of bodies lying among ruins. Indeed it was a dark day in America – a day of gloom and sorrow.

Clouds of dark smoke hovered upon the land, no sign of life was observed. While he was still up in the sky, he saw other mushroom clouds arising from every state in America. He then opened his eyes and screamed a kind of scream that awakened even his neighbours. It was now that he realized he was dreaming. His heartbeat was twice as normal, and his sweat was as if he was poured with water. He had never become nervous like that before. Alzek! Alzek! Addock shrieked his name curiously and jumped from his bed and shook him to wake up. He knew whatever he dreamt about was scary. Alzek rose from the bed rightaway, literally disoriented. Please help them, please help them…millions of people are dead, and they will all die, he murmured sleepily. Alzek! What are you talking about? The bomb, nuclear bomb…they need to stop it or else we will all die, he muttered confusedly, looking as grim as hell. He panted too loud like was running a marathon. It was just a dream, Alzek. No one is going to die, Addock stated stiffly. It’s not just a dream…I saw this thing more than five times in four weeks, something bad is going to happen, he whispered mindlessly, back in his senses. What is it? Nuclear bombs detonated all over the land of America, he turned and gazed Addock unblinkingly, And it was catastrophic. People died, millions and millions of them, he sighed wretchedly. He leapt out of bed and straddled in thoughts. He strolled to the window and glanced outside their room. He observed another group of thirty young kids stepping into the gates of Azmovik Military Institute. This was now the fourth group that made their entry since the week begun. One thing was certain; once they stepped in they would never leave the premises until the time of their deployment has come. Most of those kids seemed to be between the age of nine and thirteen, nothing lower and nothing higher. Alzek himself has been in the institute since he was ten, now he’s thirty. For the entire twenty years he had seen horrible things. He didn’t even know where he was on the planet; all he knew was that they were surrounded by oceans. The island was big enough to cover the space of the city of Tokyo. There were few things that he knew for sure; the fact that he was owned by a cruel world system, and that he was born to die. Lots of military and martial art training occurred inside that fortified, prison-like facility. The place itself was hidden between mountains, very difficult to position it, not even with a chopper. There are huge caves beneath those mountains and within the caves are states of art laboratories and many training facilities. The fundamental teaching given in this institute was: how to die with the multitude – as in genocide in the form of suicidal bombing. Alzek moved in there naïve, innocent boy who had a dream of becoming computer specialist, but now, he had been turned into a ruthless, cruel, and heartless man who is very angry with the world, particularly, the United States of America. A small instrument, with the size of a rice grain was engrafted into his body three months after he arrived into the Azmovik Military. For many years he didn’t know why the instrument was inserted on his forehead. Initially, when the process of inserting the object occurred he thought it was just a medical procedure to vaccinate him against infectious diseases. Time and again, a group of a certain influential world leaders and prominent billionaires would visit the place to have a conference with the owner of the place. Alzek didn’t know his parents, where he came from. All he knew was that he was born in Asia.

Twice a week different teachers came to lecture them on different subjects – most of those lessons are about terrorism – rendering revenge to the United States of America; to dismantle the US of its powers, and bringing it down to a total stand-still. Alzek and other forty nine folks were about to complete their twenty years training program. Only three months are left before been deployed. He couldn’t wait to face the world, though he knew his days were numbered. Exiting the gates of Azmovik Military meant approaching the gates of death. Alzek was to be sent to the state of California while the others to the other forty nine states of America. It was as if they had no self-will anymore. Whatever they had to do was orders and instructions. They were literally human robots, only executing what was commanded. Your time to go and do what you have been taught for the past twenty years has come to end. This mission is bigger than you can imagine. It’s about revenge, and the only way this revenge can be perfected it’s when you sacrifice your lives for it! Commander Vladimink exclaimed decisively. He matched bravely before the army of fifty, dressed in military clothes. The room was huge, like a warehouse with a big screen to demonstrate how they should infiltrate the United States of America. Alzek was among the fifty finest, mandated to die with many innocent lives in the name of revenge. Commander Vladimink looked evil and brutal – man of no mercy in heart and pity in his eyes; bald-shaved head appeared much bigger, evil tattoos on his biceps and triceps. His voice was more threatening than the thunder of mighty storm. In few months you will leave this place for good – for your task of a lifetime. Make sure you do according to what you have been taught. I don’t take excuses and no mistakes are tolerated. Follow the instructions given, and do not engage with civilians on any form of conversation or relationship, he muttered sternly, eyes observing each of those men closely. They stood in lines of five, postured like soldiers on training before their commander. None of them was allowed to question any instruction or state personal opinions; all they were taught was to listen and do as commandeered. Each one of you is a powerful weapon that will dismantle America from head to toes, and the power will be in our hands for ever – and then we can do anything we like on this world. His feet caused a tremendous vibration as he walked; mustache and whiskers well-trimmed.

Alzek and the other forty nine men appeared as if they had no souls, as if the power of reasoning and self-will had been snatched from them. Their eyes blinked uniformly, darted straight at Vladimink with utmost rapt. Remember, you have no family, friends or relatives out there! Go and dismantle the power of our enemy, and your souls will pass on to a place of serenity, where you will be rewarded for the phenomenal work done! Each time he talked, it was as if he spewed energy into their minds and bodies. It was still a mystery to each one of them how they would attack the US and bring it to rumbles since American is a powerful nation on earth with sophisticated weapons and highly complex military strength. Vladimink doddered to the screen that was infront of them and clicked on the remote control that was in his hand. Images began appearing on the screen. It was surely a dreadful sight they observed. Each state in the US was decimated by nuclear weapons, though it wasn’t shown on the screen where those weapons came from. Alzek gulped nervously as he realized the kind of horrific death await him, even more devastating, millions of innocent lives wiped out in the name of revenge. Though he looked ironified and emotionless, somewhere in his heart he had compassion, not for himself but for innocent lives that were clueless of the tragedy about to unfold. Three months from now America will be a heap of rumbles. Its glory will be squashed to pieces and its pride will be brought to ashes! Each one of you will be instrumental in bringing her down, and your names will be remembered in the entire human history, forever! Vladimink brawled adamantly, forehead wrinkled. Eventually, it became clearer to most of those nuclear assassins as they were so called that the system orchestrating that terrorism was complex. Nevertheless, none of them seemed bothered by the fact that they were going to die. By the time Vladimink wrapped up his illustrative speech, many had questions in their mind but dared not to interrogate anything. Minutes later, Vladimink led them through the passage to the medical chamber. It was a huge medical laboratory room with sophisticated medical instruments and apparatus. Several scientists and doctors strolled around laboriously.

Alzek knew something was done to his body – something weird and evil. He felt totally different from the time he walked in there. As if tiny needles were inserted to his entire body and not only that but his body was lighter. At times it was as though his soul was extracted from his body. All memories prior the age of ten were erased. It appeared as if they controlled his memories, desires and self-will and decisions through some super-computers. Often times he even forgot he was alive – and struggled to remember what they did to their bodies. Immediately after each of those fifty men were placed on robotic beds they became unconscious while things were injected into their bodies. This was performed every week and by the time they woke up from those beds, they couldn’t recall a thing. For many years Alzek had nightmares in which he had a loving family, but that family was decimated together with millions of people during Armageddon. Each time he had that nightmare he recalled something small about his past and childhood life. But it was just a flashing memory that passed quickly before he could make sense of it. That night, after medical procedure was performed he slithered out of his room to Addok’s room. One of the favoured and trusted remembers of the finest fifty. Visiting other folks was strictly prohibited after eight in the evening at Azmovik Military Facility, yet Alzek defied rules. He didn’t know he was been observed and monitored for every move he made. All were staying in one building, which had three storeys. The rooms were bachelors that had bathroom, bedroom and a lounge. There was one huge kitchen at the center of the building where everyone went three times a day for a buffet. Addock’s room was three rooms away from Alzek’s. Say whatever you want to say quickly before you put me in trouble. You know visiting after eight is a big offense, Addok muttered tightly after closing the door as soon as Alzek walked in. He was playing a computer game in which major world cities were destroyed. It’s one of the things encouraged to do to prepare themselves for the day of disaster.

I think I have an idea what they did to us…our bodies, minds and souls. Alzek whispered convincingly, eyes widely opened. What did they do? Addock asked interestedly, unblinkingly gazed at him. Meanwhile Alzek’s mouth was opened to blab, Vladimink together with security guards walked into Addock’s room in haste. Agent Smash, go back to your room, please! said Commander Vladimink angrily. Alzek glanced at Addock thoughtfully. Those blue eyes paused blinking for a moment. He came to borrow toilet paper from me; his has ran out, Addock lied deliberately, chunk of blond hair danced loosely. Agent Smack, shut up! I wasn’t talking to you! Vladimink rebuked him with temerity. Alzek sauntered out of Addock’s room grudgingly, often staring back at him on his way out. Vladimink and the two security guards escorted him back to his room and ascertained that indeed he locked the door of his room before heading to where they came from. Inside each of their rooms are TVs in which conference are held late evenings. Instructions of their journey from the military base to the United States are often times given on TV. Lessons of avoiding federal security checks and infiltrating the complex American security system are given on those plasma TVs. Moments after Alzek returned back to his room lessons resumed as usual. He sat on the couch and gazed at the plasma TV mindlessly. It was one of the familiar faces whom he used to watch on BBC News, a powerful businessman who advised on how easy it would be to infiltrate the US and bring it to a standstill.

    Alzek Begins to

    Remember the

    Secrets of Azmovik Facility

W ithin the Azmovik facility was as control room, hidden from anyone except Vladimink and those powerful individuals who owned the place. Details of each individual in the facility were displayed on a huge screen. The information of everyone’s vital signals, movements and location are collected and displayed. This information is transmitted wirelessly to the internet via a verichip (microchip) inserted under the skin of all them, yet they didn’t know, not even Alzek was aware of it. Their leader was able to control their actions through that microchip implanted in their bodies. Their emotions, memories and desires were all at his fingertips – able to mandate them to do anything he wanted them to do. This form of technology had power over their souls, hence able to suppress their will-power and render them slaves of their leader unwillingly. Often times Alzek struggled for years to figure out what had dislocated his body and will from himself. What if they had drugged us and cut off our nerves that transmit messages to our brain? He asked himself nondescriptly. Though he knew it might result in him been killed before entering the shores
