One Twisted Gamer - Anthony Marks
Prologue
The rain poured down heavily, falling from the dark night clouds and washing the dirty streets clean.
Low rumbles of thunder boomed in the distance, and people walked past quickly with their umbrellas raised and jackets closed tight.
Cassandra had no such protection.
She had not prepared her costume for rain; her short frilly skirt and white, star-speckled blouse was definitely no use against the cold and wet weather conditions that hung over the city. The anime convention had ended and the large club was emptying by the minute.
Where is Janet? Cassandra wondered with worry. Her blue eyes looked out onto the street from the sheltered doorway she stood in, and she cursed her shyness. Even though she was freezing to death and unable to return home like this, it was impossible for her to ask a stranger for a ride, even a female stranger. Janet probably left with somebody else, that idiot...
Though the event had been great and she had taken dozens of great pictures for her blog, the day was going to end really badly if she didn’t get home before it got too dark. It wasn’t a safe city to be in when the streets got lonely.
Nice costume,
a man chuckled beside her. Cassandra hadn’t sensed him at all. Down to the pink hair, you’re identical to Daisama.
He flashed a smile at her from under his hood. Judging by the stranger’s clothing and a few fantasy game badges on his jacket, Cassandra guessed he had been at the convention as well.
She almost felt grateful that he had started the conversation. Thanks, I spent the weekend working hard on it,
she said with a soft shiver, and he turned away and looked at the rainy streets.
"Wouldn’t want you to ruin it, I’ve got a large umbrella here. Is someone taking you home or do you want me to
