About this ebook
Erin of Elliath returns in this conclusion to the epic saga begun in the first three books in the Sundered series. Erin, formerly Lady Sara and now the legendary Lady of Mercy to the slaves of the Dark Empire, has just helped Renar, the rightful heir to the throne of Marantine, reclaim his kingship from an usurper. With the power of the Bright Heart waning under growing shadows of the Dark Heart, Erin and her friends must once again journey back into the Dark Empire, where High Priests battle for supremacy and the First of the Sundered, Lord Stefanos, awaits the return of his Lady Sara. In this final volume, the old ways of the Light Heart and the Dark Heart will be changed forever.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I have to admit that, overall, I enjoyed this book, and the Sundered series of books. As a HUGE fan of Michelle Sagara West, I was very interested to read the first set of novels she wrote, and very excited to find that they were re-released. This book is the fourth and final book in a series, and perhaps the best of them. These books are definitely not the best of her work, but do show the seeds of the universe that West creates in her next books - the Hunter Duology and The Sun Sword Series. The story was a creative interpretation of mythical and religious stories and fairy tales, and deals with the conflict of good and evil, or in this case Light and Dark.I recommend this book, and the others, so any serious Michelle West fans.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I started reading this series in 1992 when I found the second book in a shop in Vancouver. Annoyingly I could never find any of the others, despite searching extensively, so I was very glad to complete my series with these reprinted editions. The story of the series is a novel twist on an age old love story. Much like a fantasy world Romeo and Juliet, this story follows a lady from the light and the lord of the dark whom she loves, and who loves her. It is a powerful story. However, this was also a series that went on too long. It would probably have worked better as a trilogy, and consequently I found the story slow - particularly in the last two books. It was not terrible though. It was still readable, and the ending wrapped things up in a satisfactory manner. It may have pondered a little, but as a story it got there in the end.All in all this was an enjoyable read, but my feelings about the series would have been enhanced had I never read the missing books!
